it's a saturday but i have some stuff to finish in the office, needed on monday morning so i came in today. i brought my 4-year old son, migo to the office. it's been some time now that he's been requesting me to bring him there. of course, kids are not usually allowed there but today i made an exemption. he did some drawings on some papers i gave him on the table beside me and let him play some games in my laptop while i worked on the desktop computer. he is very well-behaved and now that i am typing this, he is reading it word for word. it's kind of amusing really. we're leaving soon coz i've just about finished my work. how about you? have you brought your child to work? what happened and how did he/she behave?

my son, 3 years old, enjoys going to the office with me. it's our own law office, just a small room with 2 tables for me and my dad, overflowing shelves and lots of paper everywhere. but we also have a sofa and cable tv. so, he just watches cartoon network by himself, enjoying it very much even.i think he now is able to distinguish how i am at home and in the office. at home, i practically am laid back but in the office i am going to and fro, looking for books and typing endlessly on the computer. also, i think it helps because he can now more visualize it when i tell him i'm going to work in the morning when i leave the house.

that is so cool, having your own office and being able to bring your child to work anytime you like. i'd love to have my own business and be able to do just that. being employed of course has restrictions so it was a novel thing to experience for my son and me. thanks for responding.

i'm not married and don't have any kids yet but i've followed my parents to work when i was small. i love to play computer games when i was small (well, no internet then) so i'm always hogging their computer. i also like to draw on the board and pretend to type something on the typewriter, or play by myself lol. it's a good thing that your son knows how to behave himself at your workplace! :)

yeah i remember too when i was young, my mom also used to bring me to her office. she was the executive secretary of the president or vice pres of the company (can't specifically remember which). it was a fun experience for me too, and that's exactly why i let my son experience it.

I really haven't tried it yet. Just as you have said, children are not allowed also in my office. Maybe someday when I have a very important thing to finish or do in my work or when I will be required to report on Sunday, I also might do it to let my children see where I work and what I do there.

it's actually my intention too -- to let him know where i work, what i do there and for him to appreciate what i'm doing. it's like instilling in him the value of work. thanks for replying.

it will be a fun learning experience for your son. at his age, he will be able to comprehend it more. good luck!
