Long distance relationships with your child

I'm a father of a beautiful 8yo daughter. I love her to death. my problem is she lives in Sacramento County & I live in the East Bay. I feel bad because it's hard to get the mother to bring her down to see me . Now don't get me wrong I go up to visit her too but the trip is rather hard on my fixed ioncome budget. Is there any one else having the same difficulties as I am. Thanks.

in these times we really have to extend patience and sacrifices. i also live far away from my family and a 4-year old son. i love him and would like to be with him all the time but the same reason i hold - it is way expensive to travel from where i am right now and to where my family lives. so really, patience and sacrifice. it is hard but i think we can ease ourselves a little bit by thinking that what we are doing is for them. for the love of them.
