i don't know how many people here on mylot have had this problem but i want to put it out there anyway.
i'm 23 years old, yes i will admit my work history sucks, my credit score is basically in the hole(stupid idiots at the credit card company), and my life sucks at this point.
how many people have seen someone with less 4 months of straight work history go into a building, put in an application, and get the job around 2 weeks later? i've seen someone who only had 1 month straight work history get a job very quickly compared to myself and i have 4 months straight work history.
now i know it's not a good thing, but i have more than some and yet i can't seem to find a job anywhere. i've gone into buildings with a now hiring sign in the window and have yet to get any calls back.
so it seems odd that someone with LESS than 4 months of straight work history can get a job quicker than myself.
WHY DOES LIFE TO BE SO D^#N HARD?

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.

the problem i'm not working at the moment and can't find a job, it's posted above, if you'd read the whole thing. can't find a job, it doesn't matter if your happy or not, because you can't succeed without a job.

I think it is because of self-steem, when are being interviewed, you have to put yourself above everything else, like i can do anything and can it right, of course, these answers will be related to the kind of job you are looking for. If you are an accounter and they ask you how well you handle taxes for a company, you say excellent, even when you really aren't that good, but what a company wants to see is your self-steem level.
I have known people whose job application has been rejected because of low self-steem, and to be honest, i never thought and maybe i have been rejected for that same reason without even knowing.
Everything is determined in the interview and how well you can handle that person asking things about you or your past jobs, don't be nervous and always speak with confidence.

i understand the self esteem thing, problem is how am i suppose to be confident in an interview that i don't get?
no call... no interview... no chance to show self esteem.
that's the problem, i'm not getting calls for the interviews.

I'm not fond of job at present, but i can do nothing for sb.
We are unable to change the world,we can only change self therefore.

i just think that most places that hire only people with 2 to 4 years experience, need to loosen up...
i have a data entry diploma, i am a certified data entry clerk... yet i need 2 to 4 years experience to get a data entry job...
how am i suppose to get that experience... working at walmart for 2 years won't give me data entry experience... right?
i just think they should think before they speak when telling someone they need so much experience before being allowed to work somewhere.

Yes i have seen it happen, plenty of time i might also add. Sometimes i think it helps if you have "connections." This might be part of the problem. I dont think its right people do this but theres not much we can do to stop it. I know things arent that great right now but im sure they will get better.
