Hi, i was wanting to know that no matter how many different recipes i have tried, somehow the cake doesnt seem to be fluffy and rise well. Any suggestions as to why, and any good recipes to share with me. Thanks.

If you're making it from scratch, check the expiration dates on your leavening agents (baking soda, baking powder, etc). If they're old they might not be effective. As the person before me mentioned, there's also the high altitude consideration. I'm at high altitude, but I've never had a problem with leavening even without adding any extra flour (longer baking times though).

hello. what are the ingredients that you used in baking the cakes? have you checked the baking powder you used if it is fresh or maybe it is expired already. the cake will not rise if the baking powder used is expired. another possibility is that if you have used the right temperature to bake the cake. some cakes require high temperatures.

Hi, the ingredients, procedures, temperature i use are as per the recipes that the book mentions, so they cannot be wrong. Even the flour, baking powders etc, are all alright. There maybe some other problem i guess.

Just a gentle reminder, sieve the flour and self raising floor before mixing. Should able to work.

If you are in what is considered 'high altitude' you need to add a couple tablespoons of flour. It sounds like that might help you right there. I always make my cakes from a box mix, so I have no cake recipes for you. Sorry. :(

There are many reasons why your cake is not that moist and not rises well. Why don't you follow some of these pointers when baking cakes. 1.Observe the correct or accurate measure of the ingredients to be used. 2.Use the right tools for the right jobs. 3.Take in mind the correct oven temperature. 4.Do not overmix the cake mixture to avoid rock-like outputs. 5.Keep track of the baking time to avoid overcooked cakes. Just remember these easy pointers and it's up to you to solve your baking problems.i know you can do it!
