Fishing for GT's

Hi, I'm going to the maldives next month on a surfing trip. Will be living aboard a 110ft boat so there will be plenty of opportunities for fishing. I want to catch some Giant Trevally on poppers, but am unsure what type of rod and reel to take with me. I need something that is fairly heavy I suspect but able to cast 4" poppers a fair distance along the reef edges. Anyone reccomend a decent but affordable rod?
