Being a grandparent that has raised 2 of my grandchildren I believe that the grandparents job is to help the parents out with the raiseing of children. Not necessarly the way that I ha ve but help never the less. The grandparents can be there for the kids to have fun with and teach the kids lessons that the parents don't. We as grandparents should be able to spoil the kids in good ways that parents can't. I don't mean doing things that are totally against the parents wishes But in small ways that can teach the kids love.

It takes a village to raise a child. That is a saying here and so true. It is important for all adults to guide children wether it be parent, grandparents, teachers, neighbors, ect.

I am not sure if one is a better guide than the other because all of them, mother, father, teacher and grandparents all have something to teach the children. We learn from everyone that we come in contact with and unless they are totally evil, we learn something good or helpful from each person.

first and foremost the parents, it's them who will nurture the kids to be a better person, and the grandparents who will be there to support the parents and of course the teachers who will act as second parents in helping educate and mold the kids. so i guess all plays an important role in the child's development.

always the parents. the parents are the first influences to the child, what they learn with their parents will always stay with them. Of course, it's good if there are grandparents and teachers to follow up on these and add to the child's guidance as he / she grows up.
