DOTA Fever!!

Oh yeah, the DOTA fever is on. Now it seems that everyone is almost into the game... a fantastic strategic game designed for multiplayer LAN or Online gaming. The only thing that bugs me is that who is the best hero??? For me Lanaya rocks because her skills are very powerful that makes her invulnerable. First she uses her refraction skill,which makes her immune to any physical and magical attacks for a limited time, even laguna blade of Lina and finger skill of LIon is no match to Lanaya's refraction skill. Not just that, the refraction skill also gives an additional damage to her attacks making her a killer!! Second, her meld skill, it makes Lanaya invisible when she uses the skill and whenever a hero is within Lanaya's range and she strikes it gives a critical damage plus minus armor to the hero whom Lanaya had striked,now isn't that cool? And she has this third skill which guves her additional range for her attacks and splash damage to the enemies. And last ly her final skill, the psionic trap, which can be use to slow her opponents whenever Lanaya sets the trap and it can also be used as a spy to certain map location to see whether there are enemies there. Because of that I think noone can escape her wrath!!^_^ well that is just according to me. How about you??? Dare challenge my Lanaya??? Well think again!!

TThats sound a really cool game. I'm just looking to start gaming online so i would definitely need recommendation for some good online games from gamers like you. So it would be really nice if you can tell me about online gaming and this game too.

What is DOTA all about, wats the storyline. I'll look to play RAN as u mentioned it seems a good one.

Well i feel that Lanaya can be easily countered with Mortred wid sentry wards. as u cannot move when u r in Meld, sentry wards r more than enough. Even psionic traps are visible wid sentry wards. Mortred can then own Lanaya with her crits which r better than the backstab of Lanaya. If I have to pick a ranger, i wud prefer Traxex or Viper. Then if i place sentry wards, i can attack u from far. Then u cannot backstab me with meld damage. By the time u r near me, u will lose atleast 200 hp. so i have a huge advantage over u. And u r talkin about refraction??? In late game, it suks. It wont take any hero longer than 2 seconds to hit 3 shots. Then poof. I feel she is vulnerable and cannot depend too much on refraction. Im not takin anythin away from the skill, it is just not so useful in late game as in early game.
And yes I would love to challenge Lanaya. I would choose Balanar or Lycanthrope or Mortred or Bone Clinkz or Viper or Razor. Are u game?

hehehhehe well it really depends on how u control the hero ^_^, I guess... and i f u must know i use her meld skill to attack not to hide, i would strike on the hero directly, together with her refraction because the refractio9n skill adds 100+ to ur damage and her meld skill decreases the armor of the enemy that has been attacked by Lanaya, it would just be an easy kill based on experience..hehheh and also it depends upon the item that u buy u know.. i would fight 1 on 1 with mortred or bone clinks or balanar or lycantrope^^,with no hesitation

I like that hero too... what about... Darkterror. Lanaya can't escape from chronosphere ever if she's invisible. Lanaya has refraction and Darkterror has backtrack too... and can bash. Darkterror with power treads + mask of madness can kill Lanaya. Well, this is just for me.

yeah, darkterror sure is a strong hero ^_^, itsreally hard to defeat darkterror if he has the right items and good team, and as u must know Lanaya has psionic traps which can be used as a spy on the places where heroes farm and this can be used to ambush enemies^_^

There is no such thing as BEST HERO in dota. Every hero is the best if you know how to use it. The first thing you need to know is what is the role of that particular hero, it might be an attacker, tanker or a supporter. If you go and tank while you get a int hero, I don't think you might survive long in the battle field. Even a techie can be GODLIKE hero if you really know how to play around with it. Layana is a good hero but hr range is a bit short. If you need me to choose a hero, I will always go for tiny since controlling tiny is full of fun and it is skillful. :)

Lanaya is good but is far from the best hero in the game. She is not versatile enough to take that. Shadow Fiend is probably the hero that is considered the best standalone hero in the game because of his ability to take over games when unchecked. Just look at YaphetS for example.

Pudge, rot gets rid of refraction shield quickly and still hurts her while shes invis (as well as hook) but its still a close match
