I watched the simpsons movie when it premiered here in town. I was a bit disappointed though, it wasn't long as i thought it'd be and not as funny as i thought it should be. I think expected so much from it. Its still a good movie though, what did u think about the movie?

well i downloaded it because i didn't want to pay 10 bux for a cartoon and i am definitly glad i did because it definitly wasnt anything special. THere were only a few laughs and the story was okay. You honeslty might as well have seen the season ending as that is 45 minutes without commercials. If Family Guy came out in the big screen i'd definitly see it because the first one: Stewies untold adventure was soo good.

saw the Simpsons movie this weekend. I must admit I largely went becuase my boyfriend and friends wanted too. I do enjoy the Simpsons in general, but I could have waited for this one to come out on video.
However, I turned out to be really glad went. The local theater I went to see the movie did a fun giveaway and the crowd was really excited, so there was a lot of positive energy.
The movie itself was MUCH funnier than I expected it to be. There were points I was laughing so hard that tears were rolling down my face. It was really nice to laugh that hard, and it was nice to see that they made good use of the PG-13 rating :-)

I ended up liking the movie a lot more than I thought I would. I think this is just because I really wasn't expecting that much from it. Overall, the movie felt a bit rushed and I think that unless you know a lot of the show's characters, you might miss some of the jokes. Overall, it made me laugh and was one of the better big summer realeases that I have seen this year.
Not teh best, but was certainly entertaining.

i think the movie was great.i loved how they extended the action a little bit to fill in an entire movie, with good 'ol "Simpson gags". (Homer and Bart fixing the roof and falling off). Great design effects blended in the background of those scenes, too. I think they did a good job not making the movie boring. They were able to fill every second of it with something interesting.
Remind you that the Simspons have changed in humor over the last couple of years, making the movie a little bit less "constantly funny in a weird way", like the older Simpson episodes used to be but still had some funny new humor moments and they managed to keep it up for the entire movie.
To increase the movie's break away (very tiny break away might i add) from an actual episode, and to make the movie a "supposedly" "family funny" motion pic (which it was not, cause mat just couldn't leave out the old and new Simpson gags like Bart's winner for example, and the hammer in Homer's eye!.. About Bart's wiener, that was weird, but funny; after all attempts to conceal his genitals the producers decided to say "screw the politically correct" hehe.
But anyway, I'd like to say something about the two types of humor presented in the Simpsons, episodes and movie; To explain the difference between the "old" Simpsons humor and the new Simpsons humor 10 years ago, Homer would have never used the "invisible" binoculars in the older episodes. That's more of the "loony" gags the put into the Simspons. "Release the hounds" from Mr burns and homer hitching a ride in the snow after leaving Esqui Moe's and arriving home with no effort whatsoever, and not to mention Bart's throat being squeezed, those where old Simpson gags.
I loved the movie and the few "pure Simpson gags" fit perfectly with the movie. I also enjoyed some of the new Simpsons "loony" humor too: "run, run, jump, jump, land, land, rest, rest". lol
Overall, i thought the movie was great, considering how they had to make a 1:30 hour episode, mix in old Simpson humor, that the older Simpson fans could relate to (whether they did it on purpose or not) and they mixed in some new "loony" humor, and how they made a credible story. Great Stuff!I did not however enjoy Maggie's first word (which is about her third;)).."Sequel" It ruined it for me..
