It is always a good idea to give a helping hand to those in need. Some people say that's our main purpose for being here. A word of encouragment can often work wonders for people,as can a smile and a word of welcome to that new employee,where you work. To be there for a fried in time of sorrow is as you noted, very helpful. Sometimes it's good to give money.Always its good to give a hand up. Blessings.

You should alway offer suggestions to people but never do for them. If you do for someone than you are enabling them to become helpless. They need to learn to do for themselves. As a social worker this is what I have learned through schooling. People become better people when they learn to be self sufficiant. When it comes to money, there are social service agencies that are available to provide services to people.
