My Surprise Birthday Party

We slept in today. Rising at 8:30 is a luxury for us. We normally rise between 6 and 6:30 when we have to work. But, when we have time off, we try to sleep in. I was a little blue because I thought that someone would have had a party for me the day before. There was no party. After breakfast I decided to sit in the sun for a while and read a book. Hubby was busy with the car. When he finished he said he was going to the store to get milk and bread. I told him to go ahead. I enjoying my lazy time. He said when he got back I should be ready because he was taking me out for dinner. About a half hour later I thought it was time to get ready for when he returned. So I changed my clothes and sat inside reading my book. A knock came on the door. It was my nephew, CJ. He said that my hubby called and he had found a car that he wanted me to look at and asked CJ to bring me over because he didn't want to drive home. It was at that point I thought I smelled something fishy. At first I thought he would bring me to my friend's house because my hubby had been talking to her quite a bit in the last 2 weeks. We didn't make that turn. When we pulled into the firehouse and I saw so many familiar cars, I smacked my nephew and called him a little turd. The firehouse was filled with my family members and a few of my closest friends. It was a surprise. It brought me to tears. I get weepy over stuff like this. My oldest and dearest friend made me cry with the sentiments she wrote in my card. My kids were all there and everyone got along. That was a blessing. It was a good day. At the moment, I am still 49. The party was a great way to ease me into the next age. I will be 50 on July 30th.
