Just before I sign off for the night I thought I would share this with all you lovely people here on mylot! After the kids had gone to bed tonight I opened up the laptop to find a post it not with a message from my 5 year old daughter Niamh on it that reduced me to tears! I will write it here for you and spell it the same as she did!
Mummy is sweet
Mummy is kynd
Mummy is nise
Mummy is good
I LOVE YOU MUMMY
Funny how it is little things like her taking the effort of writing this and sneaking it into my laptop (even though she isn't supposed to touch it! lol) for me to find later just bring the tears flowing, isn't it - espescially when she writes big bum with an arrow pointing down and sticks them on Daddys back! lol
What are some of the sweet things that people kids, friends, family etc have done for you? What makes you feel special! I am so blessed with both my kids and believe me folks I do know it! xxxx

Aww Aunty wee I do realise how lucky I am! Glad you like the cuddles - they both adore you! I can guess where hubby was and I wish I was there too! lol Niall got gift cards from his Dad today so he can get a wii for his birthday so he is hyper - I wouldn't let him go and get it as by the time the letter arrived David had to go to work and Niall would have gotten mugged or left it on the bus! lol It is going to be even worse when he gets it set up! xxx

Aww sweets I am sure that he wouold have - and Niall would loved it too! He will get David to take him in tomorrow - so I might as well enjoy watching tv when I get the chance! I was so proud of him though as he will have an extra £20 or so leftover and told Niamh that he might buy her her own controller for her birthday so they can play together! My kids are making me so proud just now! xxx

She is a treasure most of the time honey! She is very excited as she missed the last week of school and was supposed to get an award - we were invited to an assembly yesterday where she was presented with an award for excellence in P1 - she didn't know she was going to get it - she got a certificate, a trophy and a £10 gift voucher! xxx

I'm like this with my daughter too, naadia, and she's just turned 16. It's hard (actually impossible) for most, not to share their experience with their kids, and we all most definitely want them to be safe, no matter how old 'they' feel they are. I can tell your mom loves you very much.:)
You're so right, mummymo, looking at this from the mom's perspective. I always tell my daughter, that she'll understand the way I am much better one day, when she has kids of her own.:)

Aww Naadia - when your mum gives you advice - it is just because she loves you so much and wants to help you as much as she can - I am afraid most of we mothers are like that! It sounds like you have a wonderful mum and I hope I can be as good a mother as you obviously have! xxx

My eldest will be 14 on Sunday honey and he is like your son! I don't know how I would have made it through the last year without his help - he will do almost anything to help but there are other times when he turns into the moody stroppy teenager and I would love to throttle him! lol We are all truly blessed! Hugs xxxx

The only things I get are hugs and that is really nice to get as every one needs hugs.
That would bring tears to your eyes to find such a note how sweet of her to do that. I hope your huged her real good the next morning and told her thanks.

That's lovely
My daughter (three and a half) says to me every day: 'I missed you while you were at work today Daddy'
Gets me every time....
She tends to be a bit fickle about who she loves at any given time though 'I WANT MY MUMMY!' is the usual result of her not being satisfied with my paternal performance... equally interchangeable with 'I WANT MY DADDY!' when mummy doesn't quite rise to the occasion, and when we both disappoint, we are greeted with 'I WANT MY GRANDPA!' - a little difficult as he lives a good 150miles away...

livewyre you had me in knots with your daughters fickleness! lol Having said that it sounds as though she is a really bright cookie and actually has it all sussed out - think my Niamh has been speaking to her online and giving her lessons! lol What a little cutie she must be - a real Daddy's little Princess, huh? xxx

You're right she is a smart cookie, and Daddy's little princess. I want her to grow up knowing she is loved, without putting any pressure on her. You have obviously managed that and I only hope I can emulate you. It's no picnic that's for sure, but the rewards are simply tremendous. I honestly never knew the meaning of love until I had my little girl, and the wonderful thing about little girls is that they are always Daddy's girl even when they grow up....

livewyre thank you sweety - I do my best although my elder son is almost 14 and I am not always so sure I have done so well when he has his teenage tantrums! lol I am sure you are doing a wonderful job with your little princess - all children deserve to have that unconditional love and support that I know you give her - but they also need some limits - that is the hardest bit but i am sure you already know that! xxx

Wow, mummymo, your Niamh writes really well for a five year old. Do they learn to do this early, in kindergarten in Scotland? What a sweet and loving thing for her to do. How's she feeling these days? My daughter used to do some of these types of things when she was younger too, and I still have them as keepsakes. This topic brought back many memories for me, and it caused me to tear up too, because of the note that your daughter wrote. Now that my daughter's sixteen, she'll still do sweet things for me from time to time. For mother's day this year, she left a bunch of clues all over the house, and each one lead me to a note about special times we spent together when she was little. It was very touching. This was before she got her summer job, so she came up with this idea, and she also cooked dinner for me that day. Have a great day.:)

Your kids are so bright, to be able to write like that at such young ages, mummymo. I'm really hoping that you'll be feeling well enough to take Niamh to that new sea life exhibit, for her birthday. You're right about my daughter causing me to tear up over the years. It's still happening to this day too. Have a great day.:)

Here they start school at 5 and Niamh was writing her name and things like Mummy, Daddy etc since she was 3 , Niall was the same! She will be 6 in a few weeks and looks forward to going into Primary 2 in August! She is feeling great and really looking forward to her and her brothers birthdays - we always do something with them on their birthdays and this year she would like to go to a new Sea Life Aquarium so fingers crossed I can manage it! Your daughter sounds like a real sweety and I bet she has teared you up a lot over the years! I have her note still inside the laptop and I hope to keep it there as a little reminder! xxx

What a sweet little girl you have Mummymo!:)
My son brings me joy when he asks me for a hug or to play with him.
What would we do without our precious little ones!? They truly are a blessing in our lives!
Have a wonderful sleep my friend and I shall do the same.

Your daughter is so sweet hun. My daughter is only 14 months old so I don't get little notes. BUT first thing in the morning when I hear my daughter and I know she's up I will go get her. As soon as she sees me she has the BIGGEST smile on her beautiful face and lifts her arms up right away. That gives me such a great feeling, I am so lucky to have her and she does a lot of cute things. Just about every one brings tears to my eyes. Also I drive my hubby to work so I can have the car every work day before my hubby goes to work he tells me he loves me. He also tells me it before we go to sleep at night every night! I think it is so sweet =)

Hi mummymo!
I think your daughter writes better than me, who am 15 years elder to her and still don't know how to write I LOVE YOU (see my username)...LOL, just kidding.
As a 5-year old, she really has shown her sharpness by surprising you, i'm sure you'll have lots more when she grows older. She might become a great artist or cartoonist or a wit someday, thinking from her those innovative ideas you mentioned.
I really cannot recollect any one such special sweet thing done to me, but my family members have always stood by me throughout my life in whatever i did. Their support is my greatest strength, they do not discourage me, whatsoever. They just give their opinions honestly, let me take my decisions and wholeheartedly support it.

I_LUV_YOU I thank you for this response my friend! Both my kids are really sweet but also keep me on my toes - I sometimes have to do some very quick thinking to keep up with them! lol I often understand what people mean but cannot put a specific example down in words so I understand exactly what you mean sweety.
It is good to know that you have the love and support of your family around you - it sounds like they have helped to make you a happy and confident person - I hope \i can be as good with my family as they grow up! xxx

i have two bestfriends in an apartment. there we share the same room. there are times that we relly have clashes of personality. but when time comes that i am sick, both of them would really help me. or there are times that i want to feel important, they would allow me to feel it. to share to you instance, my bestfriend #1 have a milk. then, i dont have one. he then shared it to me and wanted to even have it done for me. in fact he had put it to a mug to give to me. i was really touch at those time. though right now, he is busy and wanted tobe on his way. i still cherished those time..hpoing there would be another of it. i just feel so blessed that time..

For me, I live alone with my child. My daughter will do her little drawings with birds and trees along with two figures labelled mommy and Davia. She also says We are friends for life and she loves me. I enjoy those and I paste them every where in the house. Would put them in the office too but.....
