Digital Point and Shoot or SLR?

My first digital camera was a simple point and shoot. It was great, but I wanted more control, so I bought a Kodak P850, which was a really nice high-end point and shoot. My current camera is the Canon Rebel XT (not the XTi, which will probably be my next purchase). I wanted absolute control over the entire photographic process, including choice of lenses and filters. That's why I bought my first digital SLR. I've seen some really, really great pics from people with simple point-and-shoot cameras; in the end, it's not the equipment, it's the artist's eye, but having a really great camera with lots of options really makes it fun!!! What do YOU think?

Im actually not sure which I like better. I mean I own a Point and Shoot (Canon), and I have only ever used an SLR once or twice before. For price, i would choose point and shoot. Besides I don't need all the equipment I enjoy graphic design, and I do just fine with my PnS and a little program I like to call Paint Shop Pro =]

Yup, like I said, in the end, it's not the equipment, it's the eye of the artist. And you have a great eye !!! =]
