Humans is relying more and more on technology. Are we dependant on them? Can you live a day without technology?
This discussion came to my mind while I was reminising. My old teacher used to scold the whole class for relying on technology. We relied on calculators to count for us. We rely on cars to do the walking for us. We rely on electric cookers to cook for us. His most memorable quote was: you will never survive a day without technology. According to him, we were like donkeys tied by a rope to the ground, always moving in a circle until the string becomes too short for us to move. And he was very very very true. We only knew how to solve simple problems. If the question was rephrased using fancy words, we could not answer at all, just like the donkey that got tied to the ground.

I think we not slaves of technology, we are just enjoying or just relying the technology's use in our lives. It is being invented for a purpose. We are not a slave of it, because we have a choice to either use it or not.

Its true that we can choose but most of us could not stop complaining about the difficulty of living without them, even for a day. You would be surprised by the amount of technology we use. Even a pen is a technology.

Yes, we have become slaves to technololgy. Just take weather forecasting. My grandparents relied on the clouds, position of the moon, presence of a ring around the moon, amount of hair on the catepiller etc to predict weather. Today, we have satellites and fancy doppler forecasts! We think that the world has come to an end if we can't get a doppler forecast before going out the next day!

Lets face it, all of us are looking for simple solutions. There is only a handful of people that are willing to do things the old way. We wouldn't even want to use older technology let alone living without it.

I would be hard, but I'm sure that most of us would survive without techonology - notall 6 billions of us but most of us. Not sure that we would like to though.

The best way to know is to put the person on a deserted island, without any form of help and technology. No electricity, no piped water, no shops, just the average forest full of food and water that they need to work very hard to get it. Let them live the lives of cavemen. Im sure that theres only 40% chance that I would survive because of the potentially harmful wild animals and plants out there. I wonder how many would survive without caves as shelters.

I completely agree with U. And this is not the end but we will be crushed away by the technologies. At the same time it is also much useful to us.
EG:- If the techology would not have been developed till the time, we would not be able to discuss on this topic.
Nice To See You.
Have A Nice Day...!

Very true. without technology many stuff could not be done. But I still think that it is too much, people become lazy and depend on them. Thanks for responding.

Hi,
I think may be. Being slave is one group of people's attitude to technology. But there are also people addicted, interested, dependent so on to the technology. It has really become an inseparable part of human life.
