I found my Sony Walkman bought 20 years ago..and for the new generation of youth..you probably have the smallest inkling of what this Sony Walkman all about..right..this is the predecessors of all mini-portable stereo music player b4 portable CD player(Discman) or the portable MP3 /MP4 player ..could only hold an hour of musics recorded in magnetic cassette tapes which I think must be obsolete by now..
I still have some cassette albums but could not play in my walkman bcos the mechanism has rust badly...but I still can use the radio function...

I still have one too! I have about 100 cassettes I still play (my car only takes cassettes). Even better I have an older boom box that plays radio, cassettes and CD's. I can still tape with it. Why would I need an MP anything with my old stuff still in perfect condition? Besides, when you pull out the old stuff it's a good conversation starter for remembering when...

Absolutely!! I love tapes! In my music collection you can date people's albums by whether they were released pre-2000 or not cos if they prior to 2000 they are on tape! I play tapes equally at home as CDs because I have a tape player in my car I've done loads of mixes of my favourite music so I like listening to these to ease the pain of housework!!
I know what you mean about the younger generation not knowing what these things are. My husband and I once had music playing in the car and my stepdaughters said they really liked the album. I said I'd tape it for her and she said that she didn't own a tape player.....
....times move on!

I still have my Walkman. However, I don't have any tapes. My young children just love to pull all of the tape out!! I used to use it to walk with. It's much better than a CD player, as it doesn't skip.
