I was doing a Discussion this Afternoon when of all a sudden my System made a noise I thought I had left the Microphone on I clicked on the Sound and next thing I got a message up about an Error and to disable my Antivirus when I restart my Computer
Please do not do this if you ever get a Message up like that I didn't but when I ran my Scan I had a Back door Trojan found waiting to enter
Also all Yahoo Messenger and MSN Users please do not download if it comes when you are talking to someone to download their Photo Album it is not from your Friend it is a Virus not your Friend sending you something,
I just thought I would let everyone know this

My daughters have made sure that the safeguards are in place. I also check with them if there is something I don't understand.

Thanks, gabs, that is part of what friends are for, to watch your back door, and help you not make dumb mistakes. Or if you do, to help pick you back up from them. I will be very careful with what I download, thanks for the warning.

Be sure to keep your virus/spyware programs updated too. It seems as though there are new ones every day, so if possible, schedule your software to scan each day at a time it won't interfere with your online work.

Thanks for the warning, gabs. It seems that we have to constantly be vigilant when on the internet. They keep coming up with new ways all the time to fool us. A virus completely wrecked my last pc.

Thank you, my friend, this is a valueable warning and I appreciate you sending us this information.
I have great spyware and anti-virus on my computer because I know that it can easily become infected.
I have had a trojan horse twice now, but my AVG systems have caught both of them and quarantined them within a few minutes of the infection...
Having a fair day so far and thought I would atempt to answer some of my friends discussions...love you, Tina

I crash my computers all the time. My brother says I use my computers like I drive my sports car, hard. I don't know what I do to my computers and as far as the car goes if I have the power I will use it, that may explain the 6 speeding tickets in one year.

Thank you Gabs. This has happened a few times to me now, and I know from old not to do as they say.
I received one on Yahoo at 2.30 one morning... as did all the other friends of my buddy. I saw him sign in, at 2.30, which is not usual... dropped me, and all his list a link, and within seconds, signed out. This is the fourth one of these I've had so I knew it wasn't him. I went straight to my archives and deleted the message before it could do any damage to my computer.
There are people out there though, who haven't experienced this before and to them, your warning is of great value. Thank you for sharing, my friend. Love and Hugs. xox

Thanks for the warning. I don't use Yahoo much anymore, and I stopped using MSN a long time ago. Too many conflicts with my system, that would cause my computer to go crazy.

That I surely will do. I am always on the look out for viruses new and old. Cause well I don't have the money to be replacing my computer, if it were to be infected. So I am always extra careful when online.

Gabs, it's always nice to pass on these warnings. In the past 2-3 days, I've received notices from my ISP that they blocked the "storm worm" that several people were trying to send to me. I wish I knew why they get a charge out of doing things like this and wish they could find another way to spend their time.

Hi ya Gabs. Thank you for letting us know. I do hope your computer is up and working okay now. Someone cut our cables two weeks ago, and I can barely stay on line now.

Thank you gabs! I will be looking for things like this in the future!
I had a firefox box come up last night to say that there was a update to firefox and to restart my browser to load it. I did as I have had that happen before with no trouble. But today, I can not get my firefox browser to open!! I hope that I did not do a blond thing!!! I LOVE my firefox and am hating using the IE for today!

Thanks for the warning Gabs. I have 5 different security programs that I run quite often. Two of them run in the background constantly. The desktop computer is not as well protected. My hubby cleaned 14 viruses off of that one. He thinks some of them are coming from MySpace. The girls are always on that site. I read about the hackers that have been coming into this site also.

That's nice of you to share what you experienced, Gabs. I am sure it is helpful to many of us who may unknowingly invite the virus accidentally. Personally, I do not open any attachment not download anything from chatlines. And just like any kiasu Singaporean, I have firewalls installed and up running. It pays to be cautious. Thanks for sharing :)
