I think education is one of the best way to improve a society.
Everything stems out from that, I believe.
If people are more educated, they are more likely to make wise decisions and so on.

I think education is a very large part of it especially if you are teaching someone to take care of themselves....give a man a fish and he eats for one day.....teach him to fish and he will always have food! Kinda like that. You also have to break some patterns of behavior. And that can also be done by educating others.

I agree with your comment. Education can be an excellent tool when it comes to improving society. Let's work together to make changes and stop the fussing and fighting, that is what I always say!

I wrote a letter to the editor and sent it to my congressmen saying that if I could raise three kids without any help...none what so ever, AT the time I was just a high school graduate )that others could too. Not one person responded! The letter indicated that in order for them to get a check for help each month they should learn to do a budget, learn to use other means of income and follow strict guidelines and had to take classes on child rearing, birth control, etc. Well I tried anyway!

We can improve society by free college education for best students and free health care for all.
We can stop acting like understanding criminals and giving them more luxury life than for people who are working. In fact the best health care system is in prison for terrorists.
We have to provide food and housing for serial killer and it cost you and me about 6 months per year of free work (taxes).
We act like good angels for bad people and with no mercy for single working mother of disable people.
Veterans in this country are left alone after serving for no reason war.
Young people can not find jobs, because it is outsourcing.
We have to start from the scratch. Give mothers social care for at least 1 year to raise her kids at home. Who is going to work to provide money for mothers? Prisoners!
They have to pay society back. Start more after school activities, so kids are not home alone watching TV or on line with predators.
I can continue, but it may take an hour, so I better stop...

Great ideas, I can see you put a lot of thought into it. The world is a great place but we can make it better if we work together.

I think the best way to improve society would be to collectively demand that every person be made responsible for their actions. We as a society need to quit making excuses for criminals. Tolerance can only go so far.

You touched the right place. Education is THE way to improve the society. Today Education has become very mechanical. People have forgotten how to educate the human mind. It's not the mind they are educating. Today education is just about reading texts, and vomiting it out in the examination. But that's not education. Education is not about competition. It should never be. By grading pupils you are undermining the confidence of others who are not doing well. It creates a lot of psychological pressure. Rather education should focus on perfection. It should focus on the natural growth of an individual. It should focus more on creating better human beings in the society.
Education should primarily focus on bringing out spiritualism in us. And it's more about creating the inner awareness. If that is created, automatically, every human being would know how to respect others, and also how to live in peace and also respect mother nature. If education would start there, automatically other things will fall in place. But first education must concentrate on creating better human beings. To improve society education is important. But it is first important to change the system of education itself.
