I agree. We moved six times in 10 years right after college. We moved from Nebraska to Minnesota to Texas. Then we went back to Minnesota, then to western Nebraska, followed by central Nebraska, and finally eastern Nebraska. We have been here 27 years and it sure feels good staying in one place. It is a pain packing everything up. The last few days you can't find things because you packed them away already. Then after you get to the new place you can't find things because they are still in boxes. And you have to get used to where things are even after you've unpacked. In the middle of the night you stub your toes because you are still getting used to where the doors and furniture are. We moved ourselves with U-haul trailers and trucks all but two of our moves. That gets hard on the back, especially carrying the couches up and down stairways. I'm hoping to live here the rest of my life.

wow 27 years in one place, I wonder if I will ever settle down like that. I cant find my blockbuster movie. It got packed up and now I have to start unpacking faster, so its not late.

I never thought about things like rental movies being lost during a move. Bummer. I forgot to mention that I helped my son move five times in in about eight years. The worst was in an apartment on the 3rd level. Those stairs get mighty old after a while. There was no elevator to use. I helped him move both in and out of that one. It was no fun. I think they are settled now for a while and could be at their current house for 20 years. I hope so!

It never gets any easier and they do say that moving home is one of the most stressful things we have to go through in life. I have moved six times and each time I say never again! But trouble is I can't settle down in one place for too long! There's so much to be done and you just want to wave a magic wand and hey presto, all over!

I totally agree with that. I lived in one place for 11 and a half years. Then we moved. 5 months later we moved again. And then again in a year. It got to be where I was afraid to unpack anything.lol. But now we own this house, so hopefully I won't be moving anytime soon.

I moved at least every two years growing up! I hope you are able to stay in one place for a while.

Since 1000 I have lived in 9 different places and every move was bad, In one I lost everything that I owned. I have since accumulated a lot of belongings and am not thinking about moving to a new location in a few years (where it is cheaper to live because I am on limited income and where I live will be better for my hobby).Every time I move I have left things behind that I did not wish to leave behind and sometimes moved with things that I didnt want. Yes moving is such a PITA.

That should read the year 2000 and not 1000, I'm not that old yet.

Hi. I totally agree that moving sucks lol... In the past I dont know how many times we moved in one year... Locating a house firstly, The sorting and packing, the cleaning of both houses, the carting to and from the vehicles, then its repacking and setting up house, then you move again and it all starts over again... Im sick of it, we wont be moving ever again... Im over moving too...

Well right now I'm in the process of moving, so I of course think moving sucks :D But honestly, the packing & unpacking, the cleaning & recleaning, and all that really is annoying and I wish I could snap my fingers and *poof* it was done... but moving in general can be fun, getting to meet new people and be in a new place is exciting!

I agree, moving to a new place can be fun, only after the actual "moving" is done.

I agree! What is the worst thing for you? For me, it is the packing and the loading of the truck or trailer! Then it takes a few weeks to get everything unpacked and where you want it! It also sucks more if you end up moving into a SMALLER place. UGH!

i agree... because i believe that as persons also need to be able to establish a certain relationship with our neighbors so that when the time comes that we have to leave the place were we almost grew we know that we still have a connection with them that cannot be bought by others...
