Or do you spend too much time sitting in front of the computer? I used to walk alot! We have two beautiful lakes in my town and a wonderful walking path that connects our town to several others. But in the last few years, my feet have begun to bother me so I started spending more time in front of the computer then outside in the fresh air. I realize now that I am really out of shape due partically to stopping that regular exercise. I have bought a stationary bike I have just started using on a daily basis. My legs hurt! Do you exercise on a regular basis and what is your favorite way to exercise?

I'm not doing a regular exercise but I want to! I'm currently spending my vacation time in front of my pc which is not good! My sister and I are considering a membership for a gym.

No, no, no....I am too lazy, I think that I get enough exercise running around playing with the kids, thats enough for me..Otherwise when they are at school or asleep, I sit on my lazy bum at the computer..

Well chasing kids is no easy task! I watch my two year old granddaughter once in a while and I have to take a nap after I am done! You probably do get enough!

Dear Jillhill, I have heart problem. Doctor told me there is a block in my one of the articles of my heart. I had angioplast and also medication. Even then I cannot walk continuously more than one mile. In case I try then I would get pain in my chest. But I always want to walk in the morning. Therefore I started using my bi-cycle and drive it for more than 2 miles every day in the monring. While going to office I had to walk at least 1/2 miles and same is the case in the evening. These are the exercise I do.

I have a dog so I'm out a few times a day to walk or run around a bit but it's never that far as he's still a puppy. It's mainly to tire him out so he behaves nicely. But as he gets older I'll definately start walking longer distances with him, and I'll likely pick up horse riding again. Probably won't do much more than that for exercise, other than possibly go swimming from time to time.

I know what you mean. When I got my last dog, the first time I walked around the lake in the center of our town, I ended up carrying him part way home. The next time I took him, a few weeks later I brought with a backpack to carry him home in but to my surprise he just about dragged me all the way around!

I am trying to get back into at least walking. I love to get up really early, take a bag and collect cans for recycling. I have not done it enough yet to have tried selling them, but I know I help the environment. I have been on the computer way too much since I discovered posting to forums, and writing content. I have only worked at one job this summer, so it is making me lazy as well. I saw Kelly, of Regis and Kelly do a cute workout, and I did part of it with her, boy was I sore. I need to do it again.

My sister gave me an old Jane Fonda tape once and I followed it for about five minutes and was sweating up a storm and she said, Now we're done with the warm up! I never watched it again!

I started exercising recently. It seems I am always tired and I hoping by exercising I would have more energy. I like to walk, but I also have a couple of exercise tape that I am using.

I walk regularly on my treadmill. That is the only exercise i do because i cannot go out for a walk due to the climate. Moreover, i dont find much time for myself after the hectic office life and the travelling which consumes a major portion of the day. But, i try to walk regularly atleast 5 days a week. I think walking is the best form of exercise and it has helped me a lot in losing my weight and inches.

The only thing I really do is walk, I try to walk a few times a week. When it's really hot like it is now I tend not to do it as well, but I do my best. I do notice a I feel better when I walk so I try to do it.

yes, i do exercise 3 times a week . I need it coz i spend most of my times in front of the monitor. Usually on monday, wednesday, and saturday. But you know what, my favourite exercise is skipping for 15 minutes.....it's better then jogging for more then a few miles
@jillhill (37354)

That is totally a novel idea. Jogging in the long run is not good for your feet or shins. Skipping however sounds like fun!

My favorite way to exercise is to swim, but I don't get the opportunity to do much swimming anymore. I love walking now, that's my new favorite. I could just walk and walk and walk and......well, I'm sure you get the point. I'm trying to start bike riding again. I miss that, and it's fun. I walk the local rail trails and then I walk the local ponds, lakes, parks, etc. too. I've also got exercised for my bad back that I'm supposed to do more often. Sometimes I can just get right into the habit, and then other times I forget about it. Just rememebr to start slow and don't over-do it, or you'll regret it and might not want to start again. Believe me, I know from experience!!!

During the school year, I walked every weekday. This summer I haven't. Just taken my son for a walk once or twice a week. It's difficult because eventually he wants to be carried, and he's about 40 lbs. I'll walk more once he's back in school.

I used to walk 2 to 4 miles a day...then I hurt my knee a year ago...I can't walk far without it bothering me. I get lots of exercise in the summer but maybe it's not the right type. I mow the lawn, weed in the garden, do lots of physical moves all day in my shop upholstering and have lots of tasks to do to take care of my large 4 bedroom house...I do sit in front of the computer at night....but it's because I am pooped....too pooped to exercise...which is not good. I hope to get back to exercising this winter...I have a treadmill but need to get on it and turn it on...haha. I will see what happens...this winter I have to shovel and will be riding snowmobile to get fresh air...but not enough exercise. I like walking as my favorite exercise.

I do prefer walking to any other exercise so hopefully someday I might be able to again. Sounds like you get enough exercise anyway!
