How did the TV hypnotize me, and why do I not mind so much.

I haven't been sleeping well. No surprise, I've had that problem since childhood. But somehow my TV keeps flipping back and forth between HGTV, Discovery Channel, and Bravotv. Back and forth, it's Hidden Potential, Color Correction, Design Star, House Hunters, Designed to Sell, Top Chef, Flipping Out, Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D List, Deadliest Catch, Dirty Jobs, Mythbusters... I'm working on breaking the cycle. But in the meatime, are you hypnotized by any of these shows, or the shows that I have not listed that are on these same channels? And by hypnotize, I mean watch, I just tried to make it sound fancy. : )

I used to wonder why I can be glued to the TV for hours. Now I know the reason. I have been hypnotized by the TV. lol. Perhaps it is a good excuse to stay tuned, channel surfing as and when I like except doing nothing productive. I shall go for my hypnosis session later on.

I'm hooked on the htv shows, the food network, and tlc. I have to tear myself away from the tv to get something done. I don't care for the Discovery shows that much because my hubby turns them on and falls asleep with the same shows playing over and over. If I change the channel, he wakes up and turns his show back on. I have my own satellite dish, so I usually go watch by myself, in my room or the rec room.

I like HGTV a lot. I do watch Discovery, especially this week since it is shark week.

I watch most of the shows you listed, but not religiously. just whenever i see that they are on. Im stuck on Big Brother 8 though. Ive watched it since the 2nd season (i watched some of the first, but not enough to say i watched it). Im ready to see that new show that Drew Carey is hosting. I also started watching just for laughs recently. its like candid camera.

Yeah, I know. Who has time to watch them all. But like last night I stayed up until 3am, flipping back and forth, only breaking away long enough to change some pee pads. LOL Did you see that Will, the cute, but evil doctor contestant that was on Big Brother is now on that E! show, Dr. 90210? I have never see the show, but it sounds like a perfect place for Will!

During the day I have too much to do to get sidetracked. But at night, it sucks me in. LOL

Amber, everyone needs to relax. It is healthy. I rarely watch TV. As a matter of fact, I should watch more of it just to relax. My mother watches a lot of TV. I can tell that is why she does it. When she watches TV, she seems to be mesmerized. When I think about the day I had today, I need something to take me away. Tonight I watched Age of love. That sort of relaxed me. House Hunters is a good one. As we age, we try to shut out the craziness of the world. We want to be entertained without having to do anything. As we get older, we think we deserve it. That's my take.
