I use the New International Version. I understand it better than King James version.

For study and work I use the FREE e-Sword program, so I have a lot of versions at hand. The English versions I mostly use are:
1. The Literal Translation of the Holy Bible, because it does'n use those filler words and turns which are necessary to put the text into polished English.
2. A King James Version with Strong Numbers (every word with a numerical referrence to Strong's Lexicon of Gree and Hebrew Language).
3. The World English Bible, which is written in everyday English and with limited vocabulary, so it can be understood also where English is second language.
Offline, I got used to the New International Version, but now I tend more and more to the ERV, Easy to Read Version of the World Bible Translation Center, which is really easy to read because of its entirely updated expressions which give some new and delightful understanding. This is the one I recommand for normal reading and you can have a look at it at http://wbtc.com where it is for download in PDF format.

I personally like the KJV the best. I think it's the most trusted English version. If I am to memorize verses, I like to remember them from the KJV.
