Kevin Garnett to become a Celtic

The Minnesota have reached an agreement to send NBA super-star to the Boston Celtics for Al Jefferson, Theo Ratliff, and a first round pick. I would have much preferred to see KG as a Laker or a Sun but at least he has a chance to shine again. As weak as the East is, pairing him with Paul Pierce make the Celtics an automatic contender. Playing in relative obscurity has led many to overlook the fact that Garnett is still one of the top 5 players in the NBA.

This decision was a big mistake by Boston. They unloaded all of their major prospects. All of which improved from the 2005-06 season. They might be a contender next year, but they forgot to plan for the future. Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett only have a few more good seasons. Boston still does not have a leader at the point guard position. They'll improve next year but in the long run they'll collapse once again.
