Life is a journey ... how's the trip been for you so far?

Life is a journey through many terrain
From gardens of pleasure to deserts of pain
From an ocean of love to a jungle of hate
From mountains of glory to canyons of fate.
There's highway for joy and highway for sorrow
A road for today and a road for tomorrow
So choose your path wisely and walk with care
If you follow your heart, you'll find your way there.
I've been to the garden and planted seeds there
I've been to the desert and felt the despair
I've swam in the ocean and drank of it's wine
I climbed up the mountain to touch the sky
I went to the canyon and started to cry
I've traveled both highways, both today
And tomorrow I've basked in the joy
And wallowed in sorrow
My Path has been chosen and
I've walked it with care I followed
My heart and I'm on my way there
So i'll just keep walking til I find what
I'm after To Mountains and oceans and
Gardens of laughter.

Such a nice poem! Very touching, it tickles the emotions.
The journey I'm taking today is a more careful one. For when I was young, it was a foolhardy journey for me. A "come-what-may", "wherever the road will take me" journey. Now, as I have aged, I have seen the humps and the potholes and have learned to avoid them. But still the journey I'm taking is as exciting as the days when I was young, for this time, I'm taking this journey with my children. A journey filled with memories that will last me a lifetime.

my life's journey has been full of joys and sorrows. i have been through smooth and rough roads. i believe no one has experienced travelling all along without having been fallen on their knees once or twice because the road was narrow and rocky. through these i learned and managed to stand up with head up high and became stronger with the grace of God. i considered growth as the surest sign of progress in my life. seeking new ideas and learning from experiences helped me grow and enjoy my journey.
as i travel now i use my personal compass to guide me along life's journey. this is my conscience, seemingly a small voice that i usually hear and listen to which path i would traverse. this compass somehow invites me to be more compassionate, kind and honorable for without my compass, i might get lost. it is always important to me that i always bring my compass to make my journey richer and more meaningful.

Its very much true that life is a journey...There are different paths to lead a life..some paths are good and some are bad.. for my case i always get confused abouth which path I should choose..but till now I havent faced any problem as I always take advice from experienced people..they can tell you all the hurdles as they have passed throuigh that path you have chosen..so i always meet less hurdles in my path set..

Hi fab315! :) Life's journey has been a mixture of bumps and smooth roads for me. When I was in college, I took up Accountancy because I really love Math. The course was really full of pressure and stress and I'm glad I was able to manage to get through it. I was on the right track.
After college graduation, I was LOST to where I want to lead my life. I was faced with the hurts and pains of life's realities. I was never really used to that because I lived a very sheltered life since then.
With the grace of God, I am able to put my life in place. I have never really reached what I want to achieve for my life. But I'm glad and proud to say that... I'm almost there. ^_^

Hi pal , I love the poem , did you write it? my road has had a lot of twist and turns but nice resting places between , sometimes I didn't get to wait there for long before moving on , now It is a go slow road but interesting , I am learning a lot on my journey though xx

at the age of 28, i say, i have chosen my own path with the blessing of my parents ofcourse.
the journey had been great for me so far. everything just goes on smoothly. a lot of things had changed and i need to adopt on the new environment i am into now. but adjustments have been easy for me here. maybe because of my understanding boyfriend, friends and my boyfriend's family who loves me and accepts me.
i just hope that the journey in the years to come will be nice sailing as well and that whatever difficulties my boyfriend and i will encounter ahead, we will be able to get through them together.

Mine has it's "up's" and "down's" that I can say, helped me mold to what kind of person I am now. I can be sarcastic at times, hot-tempered on other times, but I can say that all of them are a part of who I am. People who knows me, already took it and understood that side of me. They didn't left me just because of that reason, instead they kept me because I am "good" and "funny" loving person at the same time!;)
I can not say that I am already half-way of my life, nor I am done with it. But I am happy to who or what I have had in my life, from past to the previous. As long as I breath, I will continue my journey and learn more of new things to share with people I have met and will meet along the way!;)

Did you write this poem? Cuz it was really good.
Well anyway, the road to life for me has been a complete zigzag. lol. It's a mystery to me. I do enjoy learning as I go but sometimes it can be frustrating, but I guess that's normal. I always say that life's motto should be "if it's not one thing, it's another". Ain't that the truth!

my journey so far has been so good, the path I've taken was not always smooth, I've been trough rough roads and thorny ones any yet have managed to pass through it.
Sometimes I walked barefooted and got hurt but It's ok..I learned from it.
Now..I'm walking again but a happy walk..I am holding my husbands hand and we're singing together while we continue to travel in our journey called life.

Hi, those are very nicely chosen and worded words put across. Life is surely a never ending journey with various ups and down, twists and downs, there is so much life has gievn us and i still expect that life has many surprise still in store for each one of us. We have to live each day to experience it fully. And life is short, so there are no retakes and nothing knowing what may happen the very next second too. The trip so far for me has been very nice, touch wood, but yes it has had its downs times as well, when things seemed going all wrong, but theres always a silver lining, so it keeps me going! I have the faith, and so must each one of you, that all is going to be well too.

yes that is true that life is a journey!all of us experienced many situations in our life sometimes we are on the top and sometimes below.we are not the one who do our destiny,God only knows what will happen to us and he has a plan to everyone of us,that plan is not the same with others.it is really hard on how to understand why things happen in our life.all of us experienced many trials,problems,discouragements,failures,and many more but God is always there to help us in times of needs.there are times that we should take a look why those things happen in our life maybe its our fault or it is the will of God for us.we can't say that we are on the top right now because it changes.we should consider things before making a decision and ask wisdom to God so that every PATH that we are trying to walk must be in a sure ball.if there will be some things that might hinder us God is willing to help.He is always there for us and lead us in all our ways.As of now im enjoying my path because i let God to lead me in all the things that i do and i trust him.

I've had a great childhood, parents who stuck it through their marriage through the good and bad, and a happy family now. And I've had varied life experiences, been able to travel a lot, and am currently content with my job and social life. God has always blessed me with christian friends whereever I've been and they have been my source of encouragement in this journey of life.
I have not had many hard decisions to make in the sense of choosing paths in life, and my life has not been emotionally tumultuous relationships wise either. I suppose life is a constant journey and we don't know what tomorrow will bring, but that's part of the excitement! and knowing that God is there with us each step whether it's pain or joy is the only assurance I need. :)
