what is the benefit of restoring old model cars?

my friend wants new car. my other friend wants old car restore them like new. why do others restore the old ones yet there are new. are you one of them. what is your point of view why you do so. I can't ask my friend about it because he might get mad at me.

I haven't restored one myself but I know some who have. I think a lot of them simply like the car. Some of the older cars have more style than the new plastic cars. Some restore a childhood favorite car. I think some just like the fact that they took a old car that needed work and fixed it up themselves which gives them satisfaction. My uncle restored a 1969 Porsche 912 which I really enjoyed because he let me drive it when it was all done and it was quite a bit of fun.
