I've had three children, natural, at home, and also have experienced a really bad kidney infection. Kidney pain is worse than childbirth! There's no letting up with the pain, and you KNOW something is wrong! During labor, contractions have a pattern and a rhythm, and in the end, I had my babies!

I too have had 3 children all natural, and I would choose having a kidney stone pass. At least with the labor--there is a break...and you get to leave the hospital with something to show for the pain!!!!

I have been told that passing a kidney stone is worse. Because you have to urinate. Because eventually when having a baby once the head is out some of the pressure is out and it is smooth sailing from there. Whereas when you have a stone you could attempt to stop in mid pee but it would still hurt when you urinated, if not stopping you peeing all together. So that definately would be more hurtful and uncomfortable than childbirth.
