If there is no lifeguard on the beach, will you still go there?

This afternoon there were big waves in the beach and the lifeguard raise the red flat in warning the swimmers and bathers be careful. If there was no lifeguard on the beach, will you still go there? Will you pay extra vigilant?

Yes I would still swim, I grew up around the water and I try to watch everything and just be careful all around. We never had a anyone watching us at the lake but our parents so I will smiw places I know it's safe. When went we to the beach this summer there was a lifeguard on the beach which was nice to see.

When we were young, parents were our lifeguards. When we are older, we are ourselves lifeguards!

I like to swim at beaches. I would not go swimming if a life guard had a red flag up or told me it was dangerous to swim. But I would make a decision whether it was safe or not to swim if there was not a life guard on duty. Generally I prefer calm water with only gentle waves to swim in. I can get a bit scared if there are very big waves. If there is a strong undercurrent I can get nervous. I am not an awfully strong swimmer so I tend to be careful when swimming in the sea. I don't tend to go much out of my depth. When I am snorkeling I feel far safer than when I swimming in the sea. The mask makes breathing easy for me and seeing pretty coral and friendly fish relaxes me. So it can be a bit alarming when I drift a long way. Like when I was in Samoa I was way out at sea near some boats! It was tiring to get back in to safety. When I was in the Maldives one of days I was there the sea was too rough for me to snorkel in. The waves splashing over my head made me feel quite frightened.

Same as me, I also prefer to swim in the calm water with only gentle waves. If it is unsafe for me, I will not get into the water.

For years and years when we would all go to Dad's cottage for the summer, we had our own private section of beach, that is to say our cottage was right on the water, so there was no public lifeguard. When my sister and I were little, our parents were either tight there watching, or they were in the water with us.

Going to the beach, it is not necessary swim. You can sun bathing or play volley ball or play with friends for fun as well.

Yes I would go to the beach if there were no life guards on duty because I go to the beach every weekend thanks to having a penthouse on the beach in maine lol but at the beach there are hardly any life guards on the beach when I go there ive only seen a life guard a few times but still dosnt scare me because I know how to protect my self and not what to do.

Luckily you have a penthouse near the beach where you are used to live and I believe your family will look after each other.

I will not swim in the ocean. I did it once and never again. But if there was no life guard on duty, no I would not swim in the water. It's not safe I don't want to be a shark's dinner. Not only that but the undertoe with the waves being bad would be really bad also. It would be easy for you to get swept up in it and drown. Not for me.

Probably not. I am not much of a swimmer so I would prefer my son to swim in areas that have life guards.

Yes why not, i dont know how to swim and i just go near the shore, so I am confident that nothing bad will happen even if there is no life guard.

True, non-swimmers also can go to the beach for fun.
