Well I dont know what others will say but I have a Dell Inspiron 600m 2 of them to be exact. I do leave both of them on 24/7. I also do a reboot about once a week when I get microsoft updates and antivirus updates other than that is is on 24/7

I don't think so. It might overheat and just imagine what it'll do to your electricity bill.

Laptops are a little different from desktops; if the fan is running all the time to try and cool it off, you may want to have it serviced or cleaned out. I don't recommend leaving any electronic appliance on all the time, as others have said, everything needs a break from time to time.

My mac is 2 years old and has probably been off for maybe 3 days in the past 2 years.
It has never had a problem, I just lower the lid and it goes to sleep. I power down maybe once every 2 or 3 months unless an update is done that requires me to power down.

There is a very interesting article at the following link.

In my personal instance I find that I turn my laptop off very frequently, the sole reason for this is because I'm always on the move. I also feel that saving electricity is important, just think how much "juice" we can save if everybody will swich off their PC's at night.

As long as you are not connected to the internet, you are safe from virus attacks because upon online your system is vulnerable to attacks. Second point, you will need to pay higher electricity bill if leave it on 24/7. Third point, radiation will affect your health.

i don't think that there's any problrm in that. i've got an IBM thinkpad and it has been running unhinderedly from 19th june and i've rebooted it only twice. i don't think that there's any problem. but make sure that if the heat outlet of ur laptop is below then don't keep it on a bed or some pillow etc because it may result in heating of ur laptop.
