i've been thinking about this for a few days now. our project ends in september, after that, i have an option to stay with a spin off project and continue the work i've been doing for almost 3 years now. the past 2 days i have received email messages of job opportunities and job offers. first is a part-time job offer, that requires me to go to the office once a week and the rest of the tasks is up to me. it pays about 60% of my present salary. i figured, i can do other consultancy jobs that requires a few days a month and pays almost the same as this part time job or i can open up my business too. less stressful for me. this is staying local. however, i just received an email an hour ago that they would want me full time after 3 months doing part-time. and they ant an answer immediately. second is a freelance job offer with opportunity doing trainings, local and across asia. this could pay about 150% of my present salary with travel opportunities and per diem. my base is still local and this is the most relevant to my present work. and they want to know of my availability starting november. third is in indonesia, 50% relevance to my present job, pays about 150% of my present salary and might open opportunities for me to earn big time. however, the job is urgent and may require me to quit my present job in 2-3 weeks. my challenge is that i still have to learn a lot on the local language. fourth option is actually my plan. stay with my company until september, go to indonesia to study the language for 3 months with allowance and be able to work in a new company that pays 3 times as much as my present salary by december or new year. i'm having a headache right now weighing my options. please help... thanks!

I think the last option is better as you have already said that you require to learn a lot in the current company.Whatever you choose should be practical & benefit you in a long run.Listen to yoyr mind & do the needful.I don't think going abroad just now is correct

Congrats! You seem like the person that will not go hungry. I suggest you look far ahead... Where would you like to be in 5 years? Then fit the job according to your goals and dreams. You might have some offers that may pay great in the beginning but won't get you anywhere in the future but then you have some jobs with great advancements. Best of luck with your decisions. I'm sure you'll pick the right one.

myles, this is a tough decision. however, had i been you i would definitely go for the fourth option. i think, in the lonmg run it would pay you off undoubtedly. not only will you have an enhanced lesson, which would help you in the future but also it would bring in more incentives. you can even work freelance in future. December is only a matter of time and you will get to that in no time. Just persevere and work hard and you will win no matter what. Good luck!

i think you have planned it rightly.:)i mean the number four option seems to be best among all of them especially as what you would gain from it would be useful for you in long term also. if you are not in any urgent need of a huge earning at present then stick with the fourth choice!!:)

Must be nice to have so many nice options. I think I'd go with your plan. Or as we say here "door number 4" (from a popular game show here.)

as of the moment i'm sticking to door number 4 as you say, just until someone convinces me to do something else. :) thanks!
