The other day I was taking a test in class and my phone started vibrating so loudly! It was just soooooo embarrasingly funny! I mean, one would expect for the vibrations to not be as loud as if my phone were on ring, but it just seemed so much louder. Everyone looked around and just smiled cuz it was this really loud buzzing sound. For all the current and previous students out there, has your phone ever gone off in class?!

hi there! ;0
yeah, i can totally relate to what you have experienced.
its totally embarassing and sometimes, i keep on crossing my fingers that the teacher would not notice it or else, he/she will confiscate my cellphone if they find out! ;p lolz.

hi! wow it sounds like you've got one super strict teacher! i don't think i've ever had a teacher that confiscated a cell phone for rining, most of them just look at the student or just continue teaching like it hasn't happened or they tell the student to turn the phone off or something. now if you're using the phone in class (texting, checking messages, yada yada), that's a whole different story! sometimes it is hard to remember to put the phone on silent so it usually catches us by surprise ya know?!

This actually happened to me once. I was in tuition and my cellphone was on vibration. Suddenly it started to vibrate so loud that the teacher turned and gave everyone in the class a stern look. I was so embarrassed and I immediately put it on silent (without vibration). But I think the volume of the vibration produced can be minimized through personalization so that it doesn't create so much noise. This sounds so funny! lolz

Heehee, yeah it does lol! Wow, your teacher was very serious about the cell phone huh! Funny thing is that the only reason why the phone is on vibrate is because the ring is too loud, but ironically, the vibration doesn't help much. my phone's quite limited, i haven't found any type of way to personalize the vibration and make it lower, unless i didn't look hard enough! to be on the safe side, i just put my phone a silence, but soemtimes i forget!

I've actually never had that happen. I think it happened once, but it was in a pretty relaxed class that the teacher really didn't mind it. I apologized and fixed the problem right away and that was that. Otherwise, when I do carry my cell phone to class with me, I always have the phone volume turned off that way if anyone calls, the phone won't ring. I think it's kind of inconsiderate for students especially not to turn the ringer off. I mean, sometimes people forget I know, but you can't take the risk and not expect no one to call you while you are in class. Always turn it off, it just saves everyone the annoyance.

hahaha..i've experienced this before. once i was in class, i forgot to put my phone on silent. suddenly my phone rang and it was so loud because the class was so quiet since all of us were listening to the lecturer. everybody was looking into my direction, including my lecturer. my phone was in my bag and because i was embarrassed, i was fumbling to search for it. the phone stopped ringing and i found my phone and wanted to put it on silent, but before i could do it, someone sent me a message and the message tone was so loud. i was like "sorry! sorry!" and quickly put my phone on silent. .

I always put mine on silent, but it still vibrates like in your story. One day I was texting someone during class and put my cellphone next to something so that when it vibrated it vibrated the object making a loud noise (I can't remember what it was). You would think since its just a text message it wouldn't be bad but it was one of those long ones where it rings twice. The professor stoped and gave me a hellacious look. It was embarassing, but luckily half of the class was asleep and didn't notice.

I didn't have a cell phone when I was in school, but I have one now, in my office. I keep it on vibrate also, and I don't know if the "ringing" (vibrating, more accurately) can be heard by the people I share an office with. Several of the other girls in my portion of the office keep their ringers on, though, and so you always know who is getting a phone call. I prefer to keep mine on vibrate so as to not bother people too much. Occasionally we are called away from our desks, and if my ringer was on, it would probably be annoying!

That happened to my boyfriend during one of his classes. He forgot to put his phone on silent mode and it rang in the middle of his professor's lecture! The teacher confiscated his phone on the spot but he got it back after class with a lame excuse that he was expecting a call from his parents who were abroad at that time ^_^

I have had that experience in class. But, the most embarrasing was when I was undergoing training at my new job. There were only 5 other people in this small conference room (including my trainer)and my phone started to ring loudly. My trainer struggled to continue while I fumbled through my purse to turn it off. Even after I thought I had switched it completely off the voice message alert went off...Needless to say, not a good first impression. I don't even take my phone into meetings anymore.

My grandson's phone went off in class a few days ago, and the teacher confiscated it. Their rule is cell phones need to be off during class. First offense is confiscation and the phone is to be picked up by a parent. Second offense is confiscation for a whole week.
