are the equity markets due for a correction?

From the beginning of 2002 the equity markets have been going up. Has the Sub-Prime mortgages triggered a reversal or is the current situation better described as a healthy adjustment? Have you invested in equities? If you have, in which markets have you invested? Will you increase or decrease your equity holdings in the next month? This and more to be discussed here!

Hi :
Even though the FED has slashed discount rate to 5.75% on Friday, 17 Aug 2007, we are still not sure whether this could rescue the heavily damaged hedge funds, mortgage biz-related cos. like Countrywide (CFC) and those leveraged buyout debt instruments which were hot cakes just a few months ago !!
You should certainly monitor closely at the few investment banking counters (GS, BSC, LEH, MS) to see whether they could survive this ordeal.
