Is it a way to change the number of the star besides my user name in Mylot?

negative rating may not always be the reason why our star rating changes or decreases, in your case, from a ten to a nine. more likely, when we respond to a discussion and the discussion starter did not rate us, it can cause a decrease in percentage. right now you have 93/100 rating... which could mean 93% of your posts got positive ratings or about 2505 of your 2693 posts. the rest may have no ratings yet or negative ratings. the higher the number of posts, the more we should receive positive ratings for us to maintain a higher reputation. if you get abuse ratings, your posts will be deleted. if you are not missing posts, then that is not the case. just encourage mylotters to do ratings and keep up the quality posts. goodluck! :)

I am not sure if there is a way to change the star by my name. All I know is that, I have a 9 star now. I wish I could make it a 10 one day, but for nwo this is all I have. I like my star indeed.

No, there is no way that you can change it yourself, its obvious that you have been marked negatively, but dont worry too much, it really dosnt mean too much..I really do not like this rating system anyway I think that it should not be there anyway..

Rating other people, does not automatically increase your star rating. No one knows how you rate people, so it doesn't affect your star. BUT, if people know you are rating them, they are more inclined to rate you. I have a ten now, but my star has been lower. It has gone to a nine, then back up to a ten. That is just the way it is. No one has to hate you to give you a negative, but certain things might offend them, and they may base it on that. There are small minded people who will negatively rate all those who disagree with them negative, but those people are not the majority. My advice is to not worry about it. People post about this a lot. I just kept on posting after mine went down, and now it is back up. You're doing great, keep at it. : )

Hello youless!:-) If none of your posts have been deleted then for sure, you have been a victim of some people who do no tend to be nice, youless. I don't know why any one would rate you negative. I haven't seen you saying anything wrong or mean to anyone. You have always been trying your best not to offend anyone and that's why I do not understand why your rating has come down. I can just say that I am sorry for the decrease in your rating. I wish mylot had some system where abusers could not rate nice people like you, negative. I wish that this system was transparent so that we could know who these people are. If it was more transparent then cowards who do things while hiding behind anonymity wouldn't do that. If rating was restricted to responders only then too, it was less likely to be abused by cowards. There are not many people here perhaps who have the courage to face while they give negative rating without any reason. These people are not actually ruining anyone else but themselves. I know that you have done nothing worthy of negative rating other than being my friend. I just hope that you get your 10 star back and for that I would be rating you with + as I have always done.

Hi youless! I agree with you that it isn't fair. Negative remarks shouldn't be the sole basis for the star rating because sometimes people tend to be in bad moods. LOL! To be honest with you, I always give out positive remarks to discussions and replies because I consider at least the effort they made and since I have joined in myLot, I have never YET gave any negative remark on anyone even I find it insulting. Maybe, soon!LOL. I don't really know how we could change that except if we all write to myLot about the negative remarks and give them suggestions maybe they would do something about it. Hi youless. The more positive ratings you get the higher the ratings are. When i first joined there were no stars. Now thease stars are here and pretty much in the way.Some people do abuse them which is not right.

I think that yes, perhaps, you got someone or a few to rate you negative. I think it would take alot to get your rating down significantly. If someone is deliberatly marking all your discussions (-) then it will be obvious that that person is out for you. If your number is nine than obviously most people here are rating you highly. maybe you just had a poor rating in one discussion...i wouldnt worry about it.
