Earning money online for people outside USA/Canada

I've read numerous threads and ideas for earning money online, some by completing surveys or clicking ads, but most of these are USA/Canada only. So my question goes to all of you from other countries who earn money online, what sites do you use that pay you the best? I mean sites that actually will pay, no scams.
I'm also curious in hearing from all who work from home as typists or anything else. What kind of job do you have and how did you find it?

Hi Seraphine,
The best way to earn money no matter where you live is to start your own website. I have started my own website but it is so new that I do not have any traffic yet. But what I do to take a break from my website is just browse around looking for opportunities I can promote, on my website.
You don't have to be a techno these days to know how to start a website. I have come across a very new website just last night. Unfortunately I do not know how profitable it is because I have not had time to review or even use it yet. But it does seem to be one of the best work at home opportunities I have seen in a long time.

This is a shopping mall, but like me if you live outside of the US it is probably not a shopping option for yourself, and you will have to do some sort of promotional activities to get some response and thus earn money. One of the ways to promote the shopping mall is to cruise around the business mall and see what they have to sell. Pick something you like for example cosmetics or a book. Write a review about whatever you choose and submit it to at least 3 popular ezine sites like http://ezinearticles.com and point your article to your mypowermall url.
You will have to make your readers want to shop there. So be passionate about whatever review you choose to promote.
When you are looking for online work at home opportunities that earn more money then surveys/data entry or read e-mail jobs you have no choice but to promote whatever you choose. For example being an affiliate can be lucrative but requires knowledge of online marketing to be successful, and is extremely competitive.
If you're new I would try the submission to ezines first. If you're interested maybe we could put our heads together and brainstorm. I'm from New Zealand by the way.
Take care and all the best.

Thanks for your response, it was very helpful and gave me some pointers to the right direction. The MyPowerMall site looks interesting, will give it a closer look when I have more time. If you find out how well it works and would like to share your experiences, I'd be interested in listening :)

Just another comment. I also joined Mypowermall and I must say that they are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic people! The only problem is that I would probably have to pay tax when the goods arrive! The only way out of that would be to send the stuff to my brother, who lives in NYC, and ask him to mail it to me as a gift! MPM has a list with the names of the stores, but searching by subject is somewhat limited, so I have thought about dealing with different specific subjects on the MPM blog I have. People living outside the USA are "chickens" I think, as they don't dare to do anything and even shopping by catalogue scares them, so I think one has to focus on people already in the USA or non-chickens elsewhere!

I live in Europe and have tried to make money on the Internet too, but have been disappointed and have even lost money! Most schemes are just scams and those that call themselves "humanitarian" only have pecuniary interests in mind and don't care about anything else. Regarding typing, I have also tried that, but you need to send money first before they give you the addresses for the jobs! The so called "training" seem to be just endless pages of words, that don't help at all and lead you nowhere!

My wife uses several work from home programs about 75% of which are US only.
I've found a few telecommute jobs such as copy editing but they never seem to pay enough to keep up with the time I spend. It just isn't worth it.
