okay guys. i have this subject this sem! and i am honestly having a difficult time with it. i mean, not to degrade myself or something, i am a bit on the slow side when it comes to numbers. this prelim period, i am so happy that i got an 88. :) we had a lesson this morning, it marked the beginning of midterms, and i was so *blanked* by the lesson because it was SO hard to understand. :( what about you? how did you deal with trigonometry?

Good question. What I did is go through each lesson and practice, practice, practice solving problems. I think trigonometry is one of those things that just gets to you at a certain point. What exactly about trigonometry do you have to learn?

hi there! ;0 yes, i agree with you that the answer for passing trigonometry is practice, practice and more practice. just yesterday, we had two assignments, and i was determined to answer them without copying from the answers of my classmates. and i am really so proud to say that my answers were correct. :) whew! :)

oh.. i love trigonometry! thats my fav subject actually.. ;) i had my special training of trigonometry since i was 1st year high school coz im a contestant of math trail... at college my trigonometry had been so easy to me because of the training during highschool.. if you really want to know trigonometry and to understand it deeply.. you have to study algebra first with all your heart.. thats the only advise i can give to you.. have your interest on knowing and understanding the subject and you can have the grade you always want.

wow! :) good to hear that you love trigonometry. :) as for algebra, gosh, i really had a hard time with that. you know, my final grade in algebra was 79. :p not good, right? sheesh. lolz.

haha, yes, you are right. you see, i am good at memorizing. i have no problem with it at all. :) well, that just goes to show that each of us really have our own strengths and weaknesses. :) thank you and good day! :)

oh.. thank you.. i think you dont have to focus that much to math subjects.. be the best on where you can be on the top.. but you should not also let your math be failed.. hehe.. i maybe good in math but im not good in science and history.. coz i hate memorizing.. everyone has their own strenghts and weaknesses.. so you dont have to worry that much about your trigonometry.. have a nice day.

I never liked math too, any subject pertaining to math, not when I was in elementary, not when I was in high school and college..but I mannaged to pass them all. Recently, I find my sekf dealing with trigo again..sigh, I am doing private tutoring and she has trigonometry, additional headaches and mind you it is more complicated than before..gosh.

I love trigonometry though the feeling isn't mutual all the time :) Ok, I've taught Math subjects before to Engineering students and one of those subjects is Trigonometry. I was pretty sure that my students didn't like the subject too, at first. Later on, they realized Trigonometry can be fun and they passed my subject with smiles on their faces. Ok, here's the thing. First thing first, you have got to remove the "negative" spirit on mathematics. I mean, thinking all the time that you are having a difficulty with numbers won't help. You have to learn to like the subject first before you come to understand it. Establish a connection with the subject, relate your everyday life with Trigonometry. The most important thing that you have to remember is that Trigonometry is just all about angles, angles, angles. So you must master the basics of angles and everything else will be easy. Just remember to take your time, learning does not always happen overnight, write things down and most importantly, DRAW! Analysis is really simple when you draw the figures. Good effort! [luck doesn't always apply in numbers :)]

hi there! ;0 ahaha, that's funny, you love trigonometry but trigonomtry doesnt love you? lolz. :) yeah, i get that feeling too. heehee. honestly, i have been trying really hard to remove the negative spirit so that i could fully understand the hard lessons in trigo. and i think it is paying off, because i got an 88. i know it isnt such a high score but im proud of it. :) thank you and good day my friend! :)

Master the basics. Understand the concepts behind them. Read books if you must. There are texts that explain things easier than the textbook being used by your professor. Learn to research and read more about them. Plus, create stories to better make you understand them. Plus, don't hesitate to ask for help from those who are 'good' at these subjects. Don't worry, life isn't about what your grade is, it's about how you solve these 'problems' that is important. =) You can do that. Just take the challenge and show them what you got. =)

trigonometry?? yes trigo is very hard subject in mathematics but u only need to do is u listen to your techer very well and study all the formulas of trigo.. if you really dont understand it well tell your teacher that u dont understand so that all the discussion she did she made more example.. then apply it, ok.

I liked trigonometry, alot. It was not a problem for me to deal with it. So, I may not be the best person to inspire someone with no interest or aptitude in the subject. That said, I'll try anyway. Trigonometry is going to be much more important in the world of the future than it is currently. This is because of modern computers being so powerful that they can deal with incredibly complex iterative alogrithms that use to require some kind of super computer. Today's home computer is a 2 decades' ago super computer. This means trigonometry is more worth knowing than ever before. Trigometric functions are incredibly useful in all forms of mathematical modeling. Mathematical modeling is used in all fields of all sciences, to include the "soft" sciences of sociology, economics, and psychology. Do you want to function at a superior level in a science field of tommorrow? Learn trigonomotry. Perhaps, an interest topic at myLot in trigonometry?

Hey Trigonometry is quite tough....had the same problems myself. I guess understanding the concept is one important thing in any subject and it applies here too...I guess the problem here is that there is no one given method or rule to solve a problem. Each one is different. The only way to deal with that is to solve several problems and believe me thats probably the only method....so keep practising and Good Luck..

hi there! ;0 yes, i agree, each problem is different. and i think word problems really gets the best out of me. the one where we have to analyze it first, then we draw it before we solve it? argh. so difficult. huhu. :(

Well I wont be modest. I am very good at this subject. I love trigonmetry. and I don't think it is too hard. I like the kind of problems where thinking need to be done and I think it is actually a very fun subject. Don't get me wrong I still rather have s**(I wont get banned for this right?) but i think it is the funnest of them all.

Nice..you have got good marks in prelims..as for me,I love trignomentry very much.I was good at it in my school days and collegedays.I think it was really interesting and i understand it very well.I am one the best students in maths and has awarded top scorer in trignometry in my class 12th.Just you have to understand basics very well.If you can..trignometry is no more difficult.

Wow...its been a long time since this subect came up for me.. in fact it has been.....over 20 yrs........... My main issue was when I was in high school, we actualy never got told how we were progressing in any of our subjects until we finished year 10.... THEN i found out I was great at math on all levels..but due to no imput from the school and being a typical teenager girl.. I just had no idea...boys were more important.....I think we all have blank moments, and have subjects we don't even know we understand if it is not pointed out to us. I hope this doesn't sound like cop out, because it really isn't. It is morefeeling liek my potential was ripped off! I have 2 teenagers and a youngest at school now, and from my experiences, especially from high school and math, I would only sugges tthis, never feel ashames to say" I just don't get it" and make your teacher explain it until you understand...Trig as I recall wasn't so hard, what is hard as a teenager is actually giving a crap at all! But you need to knwo if you don't understand that you can ask for help wihtout a stigma being attached. I'm sure you understand it, but maybe you just need to question what you know without fear of reprisal. Best of luck!!:)

hey yeah. actually, i think my teacher probably thinks that im the dimmest bulb in the class since i keep on asking him questions. and some of my classmates are even snickering because the answer is obvious to them but for me it isnt so they just dont understand! :p thank you for wishing me luck! God bless you and your family! :)
