Well, everyone is going on and on about pirated cds and dvds. heres my problem. I have an unauthorised copy of the MONA LISA. i also have loads of videos with shows taped from tv. i also have lots of binders full of copied school stuff. should I fear for my life if anyone finds out about my relentless pirating and contacts authorities?

Well, are you selling them? Are you distributing them? Are you using a sharing software they can track? If you are just collecting them for your own use & using a not trackable sharing software, like rapidshare, then I wouldn't worry.
If, however, you are making money on them & using a trackable software, like pando, I would get worried.

I guess that was a joke but..
well, I would never do so... don't forget.. nowadays you can get arrested longer than someone who has abused or killed a child for doing so....
ahh.. that starts making me angry again.. I so hate this whole topic (I don't mean yours Z.... I'm talking about this arresting thing..)

its just as bad here. if you made a racist remark you get ten years. but if you kill a farmer, you get a fine.

As long as you don't make copies and sell them for money that's not piracy. A copy of a painting is not considered piracy, as long as you don't defraud anybody by selling it as the real one. TV shows taped are fine as long as you don't distribute copies and make money off it. With the school stuff, that could be a violation of the copyright but I'm not sure though.

it was more a funny matter of principle. a copy is a copy. the school stuff i got from the teachers at school. isnt it contradictary?
