Has anyone ever visited Watson's Bay in Sydney? Or anyone stays there? I'm wondering how is the place like now. I have visited Watson's Bay twice more than a decade ago. First was with my ex-girlfriend in 1993 and then because I loved the place so much I visited the place again with my wife on our honeymoon trip in 1997. I love the cliffs, sea and the background views of Harbour Bridge and Opera House from atop the hill. Oh yes, there's also a little jetty where I remembered having little snacks there....I miss the place so much that I swear I'm going to visit again.

You have brought back my memories, that was years back in 1991 with my group of buddies. Watson's Bay is beautiful, peaceful suburb with plenty of things to see and do. On the coastal side, the main attraction is the walk around The Gap. The rockface along here is spectacular - sandstone crevaces dropping anywhere from 30-60 metres into the ocean below. On the harbour side, Watsons Bay is a very scenic beach front, with a number of great fish and chip shops (Doyles, which is an exclusive Sydney fish restuarant, runs a 'take-away' shop here that is high quality and very reasonably priced), as well as the Watsons Bay hotel, a predominantly open air pub, that serves great seafood lunches looking across the harbour toward the city. I wish one day I can visit there again with my family.

Glad to read from someone who also share the fondness of the place. Great description and I can't agree with you more. Hope we both get a chance to visit this lovely place again in the very near future.

hi Calais, I'm not the least surprised that Sydney resident like yourself hasn't been to Watson's Bay regularly. I was recommended the play by the Australian High Commission in my country. I have liked the place so much that though it's been more than 10 years since my last visit, I still miss it and I can't explain why. I've been telling my children I'll bring them to Sydney when they are older but my wife is somewhat discouraging. She says the world has so many beautiful places to visit and I only care about the places I've visited : I guess I'm the sentimental sort of person. Cheers.
