I sleep on average about 3 to 5 hours a night... I feel exhausted by the time the weekend hits and tend to catch some of it up by then. I feel that its unhealthy. Is there a way, some breathing technique or something crazy to make sleep more effective? In other words, is it possible to be awake and well on 3 to 5 hours sleep a night?

Definitely not.
You'll be lightheaded the next day if you had only 3-4 hours of sleep.
Why not try some yoga or meditation or maybe some scented candles to help you relax?

People are different..
There are some who only need 5 hours sleep others need 9 hours.
You can't say because someone doesn't sleep "that much" means that it's not healthy..
Sure there are people who would need more hours of sleep then they do but... well, that's another story..
As I said..
Everybody is different..
