I dont know why but for me keeping my 10 star is more important than money, I try to do a certain amount of posts every day so that I can keep my star, more than so I can make more money, which is more important to you making the money or keeping your star?

Hello there Cassy1976!
Yes, I also feel that keeping my ten stars is more important than making the money. I feel that the star represents the appreciation that other members feel for the time we take in our responses.
I would also like to point out that the overall most important thing to me here on MyLot, is the friendships that I have gained through my participation here.
For me the support, knowledge and advice that I have received from many Mylot members in my time of need is priceless.
Those members are those who make Mylot a wonderful place to be, the star is merely a bonus that mirrors their appreciation towards other members.
When I see a decline in my ratings I often wonder what I have done to earn such a drop, but then I also realize that we are all entitled to our opinions and not everyone will share the opinions I post in my responses. Nonetheless I still really do take pride in my ten star, for I have strongly held on to it for over a month now with only one instance of a momentary drop.
Have a nice day and good luck in keeping your ten star, I surly feel that you are well worth the positive rating!

i'm more conscious of the level of my rating rather than the earnings. i started with an 8 and i like to see the fruits of my efforts in improving my posts.
maybe, if we are talking about hundreds and thousands of dollars here i'd go for the money. but such as it is, it is usually nickels and dimes with the occasional dollar a day. :)

Which is more important to me? Making money for keeping my star? That is a good question! I had no idea I had any control over my star? Do I really? I thought my star was in the hands of the readers. Am I wrong about that? What should I know about my star that I don't know?

well the star rating has really motivated me to make good posts. i love seeing the rating creep up. :)
i guess the money is so minimal that it doesn't motivate as much as seeing the happy blue star. i suppose in this respect we are all like kids who thrive on affirmation more than physical rewards sometimes. there's a little kid in each of us. :)

If you are really looking to make a lot of money you are in the wrong place.
Most of us are here to socialize with others and the money just happens to be a nice incentive. We would still be here even if there wasn't any money involved.
We learn a lot of new things and meet a lot of different people. We just enjoy being here. Hope you enjoy being with us as well.

I agree with you 100%...when i would sign on it would always make me happy knowing how hard im working is showing..then i get in a fight with a mylot friend and real friend...and she gives me neg feed back because she didnt want to hear what i had to say..so now im at an 8 and im soo sad..u just dont know..its like i lost my mylot happiness,,it goes down so fast when someone goves it to you..but it takes months for you to get that 10 back..and thats just wrong..i think people have to explain why the negative mark and let mylot deicde if its worht losing A STAR..what do u think?

I am interested in the money. I am not really interested in the star rating. I am at a 9 and that is OK. I am confident in my writing, and the star doesn't bother me one way or another. It's the few extra dollars that I am most interested in.

Keeping a 10 star is hard to do when you express a different opinion and the person who started the discussion doesn't want a different opinion. My 10 star is now an 8 because of this. Ah but freedom of speach still wins out in the long run.
Money? there isn't made here to brag about...
