Why Is IT STAR gets low fast....AN D YET...

I've noticed that too. I had a 98/100 for a long time then one day it was 95/100 and has been there for at least a month now. I don't even know what I did wrong to cause it to drop in the first place. My guess as to why it takes so long to bring it back up has nothing to do with OUR behavior. I think people (and this applies in life too not just mylot) are more inclined to notice the negatives and not the positives. Meaning if we/they see something we don't like we're more likely to give it a negative than we are to give positives where they're due. So we can rack up 10 negatives a lot faster than we can get 10 positives. I would say that isn't "fair" but it's not something that is built into the rating system. They way it's SUPPOSED to work is that everybody gives positives when they are deserved and negatives only when they are actually deserved. But it doesn't seem to work that way causing this lopsided sort of system where getting knocked down is a lot easier than coming up.

If she did that - then she should be reported because that's not right. And if I am not mistaken it's against guidelines too. Though you should be POSITIVE she did do that before reporting. So no I don't feel that is fair. If you have been a solid 10 then I don't think it will take too long for your number to rise again. I've known some on here that have had their stars lowered for that reason and it didn't take hardly anytime for them to be blue again :)

They say that it isn't possible for 1 member to make your rating go down- It must have been alot of people marking negative- I remember the discussion- I did not mark it negative- but I bet alot of people did- for both of you- not fairly though- You will have to work extra hard to get it back up to a 10- but have no fear - most of us do not judge people by their ratings!

I think you should just try to solve the problem between you and your friend. Maybe she was the one who rated your topics + and felt she had to take back what she gave? Just a thought, lol. It was childish of her to kill your ratings, but I think not being able to sort out friendships is a childish thing too. Just work it out, and all the best!

Some people can be so immature cant they! That is really sad that you have lost your 10 star I know how important mine is to mea and I would hate to loose it! Is there any way you can report this to mylot as that really isnt fair.... would it be seen as some sort of abuse? Surely if they read your comment they could see that it wasnt negative

It happened to me as well, my star went down very fast, i dunno the reason though, maybe others rated my response negative. It made me sad, and i thought it's not fair. BUt a friend of mine told me that i shouldn't worry about my star, the number doesn't reflect who we are, and whatever my star number is, she said it won't change the fact that i'm a clever person. That gave me a boost. She's right. So whatever your star number is, don't worry it will go back to 10 sooner than u think. cheers! :D

Yeah it is pretty immature to rate every post a neg. And it will take alot of hard work to get your rating back up. I also have a serious pet peeve , and it is when someone copies and pastes into each persons reply on a post. Talk about childish and very petty. I see you have one of those going on right now . Maybe that behavioor should be reported as well.
