Elevator - Do you use on while coming down?

India

I try to avoid the use of elevator, as far as possible, while I am coming to the ground floor. I stay on the sixth floor and probably avoiding an elevator is easier for me while I come down. But while climbing up, I use the elevator. I had tried twice without elevator and it exhausted me a lot. Do you too try to avoid elevators while you are coming to a lower floor from higher floor?

I use the stairs going up or down whenever possible as long as I only have to go a few floors. Otherwise, I use the elevator.

i prefer to take the elevator because some of those escalators are very steep and when i start coming down i get dizzy so i welcome the elevator even waiting for it

I use the elevator when I go up or down to the ground floor. I don't like to use the stairs when there are too many floors. When there are two floors only I use the stairs.

I try to avoid using elevators too because they make me feel claustrophobic. It's so stuffy in elevators sometimes, and it makes it feel hard to catch a breath, well it does for me anyway. So, I try to stay away from them. A little exercise never hurt anybody, right?:P

I never used to use the elevators at all until I had my daughter, I used to take the stairs all the time as the elevators were always packed out and many people were waiting to use them, but now I have my daughter in a pram and I have to use them and it drives me nuts, I hate being squished in there with all those people! If I could avoid them now I would but it isnt possible for me anymore

I usually use an elevator when traveling both directions. It is a lot more exhausting to walk up stairs, that is for sure.

I try to use the stairs as often as I can- I do not go to many places where there are elevators- or escelators- I always use the stairs at the shopping malls- hospitals- etc. it is better exercise- we could all use more exercise!

It is good exercise to take the stairs and I try to whenever possible. But, because I am accident prone, sometimes I don't feel so lucky. However, I use the steps all the time in my apartment. It is not like I have much of a choice, but it is fun.

Hello ranjeetkolarkar, I am a truly lazy person *smiles* Whenever I see the elevator, I will use it though it is only from the second to first floor! Sometimes, when I become crazy about dieting too much, I will start to use the stairs more often(in term of doing more exercise to make me sweat *smiles*) but it is only for a few days, maybe...

I don't like elevators. I usually avoid them both going up and coming down unless it's something like 5 or more flights. We have elevators at my work but I park on the third level so I only have to go down one to go in my building and walk up one flight of stairs...so I don't ever use the elevator then. I dig escalators though. I wish more places had them!

Hi, well i will like to use the elevator even while goin up, yes it is iring and exhausting too but then we know that that kind of exercise will help us in the wrong run. Of course if you are having some problem and ailment and are advised against it, you shouldnt go for it, but coming down the stairs has its own fun and would love to do that rather than wait in queue for the elevator and get into it and then reach down, maybe if we are rushed we have to do that, other wise coming down the stairs is better for me.

Well I am not exactly comfortable with using an elevator either while going up or coming down.....I try to avoid it as much as possible. Though i guess its unavoidable if there are too many floors to climb. However fortunately for me I rarely visit such places and I enjoy going up the stairs...

i prefer using escalator than the elevator when going up or down on some establishments. i dont like the feeling of being confined on a small place so as much as possible i avoid elevator. if there is stair i would use it instead.

Oh yes i always use it probably because i am too lazy but sometime when i am with someone and that person does not care to go for elevator then I generally do not go for it either, but when i am going alone i am sure go for the elevator. In USA, I had my supervisor he was 75 yrs or something and i found him never using elevator either for up or down in my life....he was something!!!

I also work in the 6th floor of the building where our company is at. I take the stairs only when the service is ridiculously slow and when there are some technical problems with the elevator. I remember I told myself that part of my daily low-maintenance exercise should be to take the flight of stairs going to our office even if the elevator is working perfectly fine. But so far, I have only done so once. I got disappointed doing this because of the heat, I don’t like to be oh-so sweaty in the morning at work so I abandoned this ‘great’ idea of mine:P Anyway, I still have my early morning and going home from work walk to count on as a form of exercise.

I use the stairs as much as possible! It is great for tbe body and the legs get stronger. I use elevators when I have to go to a high floor, many of the buildings in te US are skyscrapers and not many people could climb up all those stairs! LOL
