viral marketing websites : a way to make money from adsense

Viral Marketing Websites
I read in an article about ways to make money from google adsense. One of these ways is using viral marketing websites. It says that using a viral site allows for people visiting a site to then in turn visit yours. So within a very short time you will be driving thousands of of visitors to your site.
I am still confused about these viral marketing sites. Do you have an example of such sites to undersstand better the way it works?

Hey,
Viral marketing is pretty much a way of the initial person using others to spread the word about their site. For example I could freely offer you an ebook that has a link to my site in it and give you the chance to offer it on to others - now not only do you have my initial link to my chosen site/affiliate program in the ebook you read - it then also gets passed on to the people you send it to - those people also send it on to others etc etc etc.
By the same token I could offer you the chance to re-brand that same ebook with your chosen links etc - so my initial link is still in there somewhere but you can add your name to it (or I could have a list of referral urls in it etc - you join under me - you then rebrand it with your referrals and pass it on to the next person etc etc etc :-)
There's many ways to use 'viral marketing' from giving away free stuff to me offering to create you a website with just a tiny link back to my site somewhere on the page - Writing an aritcle with a link back to your site that you allow others to use as content on their site is another form
