i wonder why, when we get a job doing something or handling something we like, we no longer like it, generally speaking. a friend of mine loved bananas, but when he started working at walmart, stocking the bananas and other fruits, he stopped liking them. he won't touch them. i know people who loved using computers, and since they started working jobs where they were required to use them, at least one of them has gotten rid of their computer. why is this?

When something you love becomes part of your work it is inevitable that you will grow to dislike it even a little. One tends to separate things they enjoy from things they have to do. When something you enjoy becomes something you have to do.... it is normal for that thing to no longer hold any joy. In general, I believe that people do not like anything they are forced to do. It is in our nature. Things that are optional that we choose, we like. :)

I wonder if this does hold true for everything. I know that I love Taco Bell....but once upon a time..a long long time ago in a very distance land...ha ha When I worked for Taco Bell...I got sick of it. But to this day now, I still love it and eat it often. ha ha Or photography. I love photography so much that a few years ago I worked as a portrait photographer and loved every day of it. I got sick of the very early days. But I never tired of taking portraits. Now, I have gone back to work and am working in photography again. So I guess we will have to wait and see if I get sick of photography or if my passion is strong enough to withstand the test of time and working in the area. :)

no matter how appealing something is to you, it gets old, and you get sick and tired of it sooner or later, its in our nature.....
