Come on guys, let us go back in time! It's not that so long ago, isn't it? Surely you remember those favorite games you used to play when we were kids. I remember I love to play hide and seek, then I played "Indians and Cowboys" with my brothers and cousins. Oh, but my favorite was the Atari Games...and how I love pacman! It was really a lot of fun when we were young...how about you? What games did you play? Which one is your favorite?

Hi TerryZ! I am not familiar with red light green light and red rover come over, maybe we have it but have called it differently. However I played hopscotch with my brothers because they need me to play Indians with them. LOL! Have a nice day and thanks for sharing. :)

Hi jennybianca! Yes, I think kids today are more into movies and videos...I guess it's because back then, we don't have that luxury. LOL

Only one game comes to mind... Super Mario / Mario Brothers. The game console those days are with antenna and the joystick are very basic. Instead of CDs, there used to be cartridges. Until now, it is still the best game for me. Super Mario and Luigi forever! :)

Let me see. Hide & seek was very poluar. As we got older we were allowed up the street to play hide & seek. We also loved to play cricket on the front roadf. Then there was Monopoly. Yes, we played Cowboys & Indians too.

Hi jennybianca! I guess, hide and seek is a universal game and it's true as you get older, we get a wider area. Thanks for sharing and have a nice day! :)

This discussion is so cool, that I had to read ALL the responses first! In addition to all mentioned above, we had talent shows (we used the old abandoned chicken coop), and put together puzzles. We also had a mini pool table that gave us hours of fun. We played poker, we all had our own penny jars. Card games called screw your neighbor, uno, and skipbo. We also played a game called spoons.

Hi bestisyettocome! Thanks! I am having fun in reading all your responses too. It really brings back the wonder years and I am so happy I am not alone in feeling good when looking back those beautiful moments. We may come from different places but the happiness and excitement in the kind of games we played are always the same. Oh yes, we played card games too even as kids (LOL)..BlackJack, Lucky Nine, Red Dog and we have marbles or rubber bands as "money bets". LOL! really appreciate your sharing..Have a nice day! :)

Isn't it sad that kids today don't have the imaginations to play those games we played as children? They need video games or their bored.

We would have a great neighbourhood game of hide and seek. That was lots of fun. At school we played Red Rover, Dodgeball, hopscotch. We also played badminton, tennis, ping pong and rode our bikes around the neighbourhood. We used to hang sheets on the clothes line on our back porch to separate it into rooms so we could play house. In the fall we swept all the leaves up into a pile and then broke them down into rows used as walls for our house. We played house a lot... and school. I was ALWAYS the teacher because I was the oldest kid on the street.

Hi patgalca! Hehe..I never had the chance to play Teacher, always the student who get to sit infront though. LOL. We played house too but instead of using sheets because mom will get mad, we use cardboard boxes as walls and roofs for our make believe houses...and we get to cook too (leaves and flowers in the garden) and pretend we're having a feast. LOL! Really appreciate your sharing...have a nice day! :)

Hopescoth is fun too. In Duck Duck Goose, young children sit on the floor in a circle and one person is choose as "it". The "it" person walks around the outside of the circle and touches each childs head saying duck, duck, etc. And when he says goose, that person is then selected as "it" and must race the person back to the spot in the circle, if they bet the person they are not it, the original person is. Hope this makes sense. If not, someone else please comment here and help me out. Thanks.

Well, I've always loved video games, since my uncle got us a nintendo, when I was around 10. But video games are hardly a group activity. I guess in school and with my friends, I loved to play tag. I still play hide and seek sometimes with my little cousins. And who could forget good old "simon says", that was like the funnest game especially if it were large groups.

Just found your thread, but thought I would add a few games. As far as video games I loved Donkey Kong. Outside we played kickball, flag football, skateboarded, roller skated, sledding, nighttime hide & seek (flashlight tag), and a lot more. One of things we were probably crazy to do, but loved doing it was tree races. Behind my neighborhood we had some dense woods. We would start at one end of the trees, climb one and go limb to limb, tree to tree and see who could go the furthest without touching the ground.

Hi bojo96! I think I would not be able to climb trees and go from one limb to another but I would have love and enjoy watching the tree races, I will see if who will be the first to fall. Haha.. And I have forgotten about donkey kong, good thing you have added that to the list. Thanks for sharing and have a nice day!

I forgot croquet. Where you hit the wood balls through the staked hoops with a mallet. Usually, we would end up just seeing who could drive the ball the furthest because we weren't talented enough to make it through the hoops. :)
