I just finished watching "In a Private Garden" and it is one of the most touching ones I have watched in a long time. It's about two young misguided and misdirected people. The boy is on alcohol and drugs and the girlfriend is trying very hard to just live a clean life. She finally leaves him and finds a job taking care of a woman who is terminally ill from cancer and has only 6 mos. left to live. A few months later while she is shopping for the woman, she runs into her old boyfriend and he has gotten himself cleaned up and off drugs. He needs a place to stay so the girl asks the woman to "hire her brother" as a gardener. He gets the job and a place to live for taking care of the woman's gardens. Her name is Elinore (Ellie), and in the course of time the young man falls in love with her and she with him. Ellie and the young man "marry" each other in the gardens that he has created with her after the other girl finally realizes she has lost her boyfriend to another woman. When the woman finally passes on, she leaves everything to the boyfriend (Buck). He just can't keep what she left him because it makes him feel as if he stayed with her just for her money. In an expression of his true and faithful love, he leaves it all to his old girlfriend and goes off to start his own landscape business. It truly is a wonderful movie of love and friendship. If anyone gets the chance to see this one, I would highly recommend it. Guess it just hit a spot with me because I have lost a mother, a sister, and a father to cancer and had been with them clear through to the end.
