My daughter is 30 and is now a man. He has been living as a man for the last four years. My family was very upset, but MY friends were very excepting of this change. He moved away and we are the best of mom/son. would like to know if this is anything that has happened to you.

I've never been in that situation personally, but being in the GLBT community I've known a lot of transgender people, and not many of them have told me that their parents were accepting of them. So I just wanted to let you know how special and wonderful you are, and how much you inspire me as a mother. =)

thanks, but if you love your kids you do. He is still the same person that he always was inside, that is what people don't get, so when they freak out about this situation I can just scream, because I want to say especially to family memebers, this is the same person that you hugged, kissed, asked to babysit etc for the last 20 years or so and now you don't know what to do with them? It is a very trying time. I am going to visit him and his sister this weekend, and can hardly wait till I get there. thanks for comment.
