what is it like spending a day in your life?
for me, my regular routine during a working day would be:
8 hours at my job
4 hours of commuting
6 hours of sleeping
2 hours of eating
2 hours in bath/shower/etc
1 hour on the phone with family and friends
1 hour of household chores
in most hours during daytime, my computer is on. in most hours during the evening, the television is on. this is what my single life looks like from the outset. unlike when i was still living with my family, i get to be with them at least the better part of the evening before i sleep and a good part of the morning before i go to work.
having fun is not listed there but i believe that fun can be injected in most of everything we do. i laugh a bit, cry a bit, sing a bit, play a bit. however, i would still like to laugh some more, play some more, sing a lot more and cry less. well... this is life. :)
how about you, how does 24 hours in your life look like? :)

A day in my life.............. hmmm - well if we take a normal working weekday, that would be:-
8 hours working at my job
3 and a 1/2 hours' commuting to and from work
1/2 an hour breakfast and getting dressed etc
8 hours sleeping
1 hour basic housework every evening
1 hour eating dinner
1 hour on the PC
1 hour in the bath - my daily "luxury" for "me" time
To be more specific....... I get up at 5.30am, and leave the house at 6.30am, ready to start work between 8.00am and 8.30am. I work until 4.00pm or 4.30pm, and then get home about 6.00pm, where I have just over 3 hours to fit in a little basic housework each evening, prepare a meal, eat it, and spend a short time on the computer checking emails and myLot. Then I have my lovely bath to relax, and I'm always in bed by 9.30pm - 10.00pm or else I would never get up for work the next morning!! Not very exciting I'm afraid.

i like the "bath" part. taking time to do something for yourself as a relaxation is very nice. :)

All my time is spent with my son when I first wake up, feeding him, entertaining him, etc. Now and then I get a few discussions answered if I have time and then other days I may have an hour or two. I sleep mostly 8-10 hours depending on what time I go to bed (which is usually early when i put my son to bed) and then I eat breaky, lunch and dinner which could take up to two hours combined. OTher than that its emails, blogging, running errands, paying bills etc. as well.

24 hours have been gifted by the nature. And I am seeking for 25th hour of a day. I know that 24 hours are more than 24 thousand dollar, which I receive when I get up in the morning. But less of them I can utilize. Much of these 24 hours slip from my hands like a sand. I try to capture them as well as I can. Every drop of second is dipping in the sea of ceturies.I am trying to capture them, but alas as I could not do as I should do.

My life is all mixed up. First, I am a chronic night owl so I don't go to bed until after 7 a.m. I wake up about 1 p.m. unless I have an appointment.
I let the dog out and get the mail. Flip on the computer. Check the news. Make sure everyone I love is OK. I always check to see where my 21 year old is (usually sleeping since he works nights and stays up with me) and my 16 year old who is usually playing games or getting ready to go to a friend's house. If I don't know where they are, life stops until I do.
I get some water or tea and start writing if I have taken a shower before bed. Otherwise I jump in the shower first then start work. I usually have a priority list of columns, research, reviews, etc. that need doing and I TRY to stay on task. I often don't and end up following fun links (That is how I ended up joining here!) or reading the latest news or celeb gossip.
Phone rings. Rings. Rings. It never stops. I field the calls and either go to my real office or work from home. My choice.
Work until my husband comes home at 5. Somewhere in there, I pick up the house a bit for about a half an hour.
We discuss dinner, which is usually bought because my work is always on a deadline and I haven't much time. I even eat at my computer.
If my favorite reality show or whatever is on, I will continue to work with my laptiop as I glance at the TV, stopping when something is interesting.
I may take a break and pick up the house a bit more, yell at the kids to pick up their messes (Yes even at that age, they make messes) and talk to my husband who I rarely see let alone talk to much lately. We're on opposite schedules.
Most nights, he goes to bed at 11. My older son will either hang here and be on his computer or take off with his friends and my younger one will be in his room on his Xbox or computer.
And the writing goes on. All this time, I am fielding emails and dealing with interviews and who knows what that pops up. I will take 30 minutes and workout. By 6 or 7 a.m., I'm toast and ready to call it quits. I will take a shower then or will do it when I first wake up. Sometimes, when I am feeling caught up, I take a long bubble bath and relax with a good book. That's my treat!
And if I have appointments or places to be, it messes me ALLLLL up and I have to rearrange how I will do all I have to do and still go where I need to go.
It's a crazy, boring life but it works for us somehow. At least for now.
I know I am not stopping to smell the roses and I know I need to take one day and NOT work. I need to take one day and make it a family day or a me day or something. I am trying. But it's nearly impossible when deadlines are all around me. Despite it all, I love every minute of it!

you have quite an orderly routine... that i pity the person who will mess it up. it's hard enough to do tasks according to schedule and rearranging your day to accommodate an unplanned activity could be... hellish. hahaha. :)

my 24 hours..my day..
I usually wake up at around 7 to 7:30 AM, latest would be 8:00 Am, then I'm off to work at 8:30 or 9.
I spend 10 hours at the office..very looong, but It's ok for me because I don't have to report on Saturdays.
I'm out of the office at 6:30 PM
Mondays and Wednesdays -I'll do private tutoring untill 9PM, sometimes my session would end at 10PM.
Tuesdays- I have a weekly regular meeting at 7:30 to 9PM, that's for our CE (Christian Education) Board, just last week our weekly devotion was moved to Tuesdays at 10 to 11 PM.
Thursdays- I have Young professionals fellowship on ist and 3rd thursdays of the month, while 2nd and last thursdays is devoted to our Worship Team meetings.
Fridays-I attend regular prayer meeting that starts at 7:30 untill 10 PM.
I know, I don't have much time for myself until 10PM onwards..
My saturdays- that's when I have time to do household stuff, but only during mornings, afternoons are spent for our kids feeding and teaching ministry and evenings practice for music ministry.
Sundays-morning till noon,I'm at the church, and finally sunday afternoon-that's my time to relax, sleep and just chill out.
I am actually askimg for an additonal hour for a day..I need more :)
One good thing about all of this..I'm with my husband always except when I'm at the office, all those evening schedules, we do it together,we do the same ministry.
