Well I don't use Vista, but I did use Vista RC2 before it was officially released and Avast Antivirus worked perfectly. I can't speak for the firewall though. I've heard alot of complaints about how hard it is to find a 3rd party firewall for Vista.

How would you like a free, all-in-one suite that works with Vista, AND doesn't require annual license renewal? Just sign up for an e-mail address with AOL, and you can have McAfee SecurityCenter for free! Get it here: http://safety.aol.com/isc/index.adp?

Neither. It's the real McAfee, but you're getting it free through AOL. It has McAfee antivirus, antispyware, and firewall. It has other features as well, the most important of which run automatically. For example, if you're just surfing the web when your browser hangs, then a message pops up and says a script is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly, you can abort (terminate) the script right there. Chances are, it may be one of those JavaScript iFrames that will try to infect your computer with malware.
