Is politics so dark?

No, they are not. They are worse.

The US government (and most other governments on this planet) are run by lobby and interest groups in the background which need "puppets" like the president, the cabinets, politicians etc. to execute their orders for them and staying unknown in the background. Those real "powers" in the background are comprised by industrials (oil, pharma and industry sectors), private banker families (or dynasties) and all the royal houses across this world. To the public they act like enemies and that they do not like each other (and in fact fuel hatred between the different folks) but in the background they are like a BIG family and working together towards a specific goal. The high official politicians know all that to 100% and to some degree the "middle" management, too. Those powers in the background need puppets and slaves to do all the dirty job for them so that they can stay in the background and that nobody ever gets the slightest idea who the real powers actually are. Most people believe it's the politician puppets which have the sole power which really couldn't be farther from the truth. Those puppets consist of: - all politicians - intelligence agencies (CIA,NSA, Secret Service you get the idea) - the whole immense bureaucratic apparatus in each country - and of course WE the people who do not realize that we are their slaves, paying ridiculous sums of taxes and fees which to 99% go to the elitists above us Hope that clarified a little. I think so,this tv play is great for it is cool and real. It reflect some thing from the real world. Politics is another word about dark,no one is reliable.

I think the politics in Prison Break gives a good insight into real Amercian Politics, to be honest i think that some external force runs the country and not the government.
