Following your heart or your head...which is better?

An Excellent, pertinent and Superb post indeed! YOu have written very beautifully. I think, we shold follow our head's advice, instead of heart, if we have to succeed in life. And I personally feel, those who follow their head's advice..they always win and take the right decisions in life. I can also say, it is very difficult, I mean it is not easy for everyone to follow what his/her head says. I feel, those who are goverened by their hearts...always land themselves into troubles. Heart does not see any logic...it just gets carried away by our strong emotions. I on my part, am governed by my heart...(sometimes through head) and I feel in many cases....I land myself in soup and consequently face the music. I wish I could be more governed by my head, instead of my heart....so I could have avoided troubles in my life and could have been more successful in my life. It is always best to go with your head. To think it out, then to follow your emotions.

HEART and LOVE. HEAD and THINKING. you love someone with a full heart ...only people with good hearts can love others. head ..with it you go on thinking until you find what exactly is suitable for you.

I think we have to follow our head. because this says us something logical which heart don't tell.some times in our life some situation come into our life when it is difficult for us to decide which one we shall follow . but in that case we have to follow our head .

You should not always follow your heart or brains.It should be an ideal combination.Your thinking must be a combination of both practical & emotional approach.Too much practical approach in life will make you away from your loved ones & too much emotional approach will make your life miserable.Actually you tend to listen to both heart & brain & remember sometimes listening to heart do helps you as heart never lies.

They have their individual roles. Their relevance is dependent upon the sensitivity of the occasion. While sometimes, heart is at the top like in love, at other times head rules the roost. Many times it depends upon the occasion and context.

A decision made without warmth is as bad as a decision made on sentiment.

hey how come so many people are behind the heart i dont know but one thing is for true its the brain that finally decides on the fate of the heart ...... it is just an illusion that we should think something by heart wat a mistake it is .......how can we think with heart ..... its all the brain that works ..... and everything in our body is controlled by our brain then how come the feelings of love can be expressed by heart alone ...... it has become a habit for everybody to equal love for heart but thats not true..... it has happened like this just because our heart beats more vigorously when we r near our lovers but this is again the brain that controls this rate heart cannot do it on its own

well, i think, we have to use both.. but more preferably to use your head.. especially at times like now... we have to be more careful regarding these things... if you follow your heart, be sure that you have thought many times that you got the right decision following your heart.. heart and head works together....

Hi. When i give advices to my friends, i say that they follow their mind over their heart and heart over mind. haha! Confusing you know. . Its just that depends really on the situation one is in you know. .. On a personal note, its been years that i followed my mind over my heart but thanked god now i dont care anymore as long as i'm happy and in love. haha! Take care now. (",)

i think your heart is best because if a lot of people went with their head, there wouldnt be half as many books written or inventions made that there are today.

Always,always go for heads if you are in confusion.If the heart is not demanding anything wrong,like your heart says you want to go out in fresh air, or you want a cup of coffee,or you want to wear such and such colour its alright to follow, but when it says something wrong and you find that you have to think twice, your heart is needing the help of heads at that time better follow head, as it sees all pros and cons and gives you right decision.

I thin it depends on the circumstand. There are times when you need your head, while there are times where the heart is better. You just need to know when you needs each. The heart is good when it comes to emotions, like mercy, forgiveness, feelings, understanding. While the mind is good with logic, analysis, solving puzzles using the clues or statements (in order to capture cheaters). *LOL* So I think we need both, regardless the circumstance. There are only time when one is mostly used than the other one, but never could they be separated or it would mean disaster. =)

Hi, well for me my heart works at all the times and its only when i may sit down to think seriously that i feel that ok my heads working!! After all we have to make money and there the heart wont work! well jokes apart, heart guides your head, but the head see the heart in no place at all !! Our heart beats and lives and guides us fully and whatever we do with our hearts, is what wed put our heads fully inot too, for me the heart is where i would rather be and would like that we be more gentle and humane too.

BOTH are better at it place and situation. Relationship always goes by heart and profession by head. What will happen if lovers go by head and Judge by heart? we need both but in balanced manner.

I think we should give both equal importance. First of all to do anything we should be wholehearted that means you should use brains as your heart says not all driven by emotions and also not all driven by mere conservative objective. The person who use his brain with what his heart says is the best planner. So we can't just separate head and heart while coming to any crucial conclusion or decision making, both have equal and interdependent role to our final goal.

My head try to rule my heart but ifI let that happen then I would become a very dry person, I am afraid to say that in most situations my heart wins but for the major decisions of life I let my head win.

I think that following the heart is better..... When we follow our head we may achieve what we wanted to do but when we follow our hearts we will get the satisfaction and happiness of doing it which we will not get otherwise and i think this is much better than the former....

for me, i think heart controls everything while i totally lose my mind. well, id like to put the head as the 1st one. think twice before i act, this is always my principle. and the head is also the strong defense when bad things come. it could only harm heart but never will hurt the mian part-------head.

one uses head who is in discipline and heart who lives the life i mean to say that one who uses head will never enjoy the life as you are saying that head cant observe emotions which is juice of life i have come across both situations and i know that how borrong it is to use head
