Why do you get drunk?

Many of us wanted to drink alcoholic beverages once in a while-- sometimes to unwind, talk to friends and many other reasons, then got hangover the next day. Why do we have to suffer that just to relax? I also don't understand that. Why do you have to get drunk anyway?
