Tips for a gnome Mage

I just started WoW and need some tips. I have a lvl 6 gnome mage. He has rank 2 fireball, some other fire attack,a nd a frostbolt (rank 1). I am going for a miner Blavksmither. So, i need some help. Thanks for tips in advance!!!!

I had a level 70 mage, at level 6 though there isnt that much that you should be worried about. Focus on your mining skill (but you don't have to go out of your way to mine things, just mine what's in your quest zone) and then when you have the time try to do some blacksmithing or better yet, leave it for when you're max level. Usually ores and bars sell for a lot, so you'll be able to make a lot of money before you even hit level 20. Put your ores up on the auction house whenever you're in town getting spells. But if you have a main or you dont want money, then go ahead and level your blacksmithing right away (but that will get very tedious). Try putting a few stacks of ore on the auction house, the money you earn (yes, from just copper ore) will make you want to keep selling it.
