I have 2 dogs - but my sister had 10 guinee pigs and a hamster- I had a friend who had a sugar glider (they are little nocturnal- gerbil like furry rodents- very cute) she got hers at a pet store. My sister got all her hamsters and guinee pigs at the 4H fair (county fair). My sister in law has 2 parrots and a cockatoo. If you are looking for an odd pet- make sure yoy research their eating habits and what environment they live in before you take one on....you may not be happy with certain ones that may like to eat live prey- or you may have to invest a lot of money into creating an environment for them to live in- please give it much thought and research before jumping into anything......some people do then they don't like the pet and have to get rid of it.

I love all animals, but do not believe in the captivity of wild animals. It is not fair to them to be locked up in a cage.
Exotic animals can be found on the internet.
I have two cats right now.
Be sure to find out as much information you can on proper care on any animal you decide to choose to have, so it will be healthy and happy.

I love animals of all kinds. To have a pet...I don't think that all animals would make good ones. Plus I know around where I live there are zoning laws for certain pets. Greyhounds (dogs) like to run and if you adopt one they usually will not allow you to have one if you don't have a yard for which it can run. Farm animals (pigs, goats, cows, etc.) usually have zoning laws. I wouldn't doubt there were some for most animals that aren't typically considered domestic.

the Humane Society has some information.
Check your local government webpage for zoning information...that's always quite important. I'd just search the internet for a specific animal and I'm sure you'd find the information you need.

well i would have to say my favorite pet of all times is a tiger.i know i will never be able to have a tiger, but i just got a seal lynx point highlander cat, which is almost 12 weeks old now,and will grow to about 35 to 40 pounds, and it looks like a white tiger.this cat begs, fetches, walks on leash, loves water, sits, roll over and loves people.these cats are basically like a dog only difference is they are litter trained.you can see on my profile 2 pictures.one is of my baby kitten, and the other one is his brother.these cats are very exotic looking, and you dont need a permit or any thing.i got mine shipped from alabama to new jersey.they are pretty expensive i paid $600 for but well worth it.they live up to 25 years.
